Trekking Mount Kenya along the Contast route.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Pick clients from the airport to Nairobi hotel [or to Nanyuki town if the flight arrives in the morning]

  Real Outreach mission tours staff meets you at the airport and drives you to a Nairobi hotel (or Nanyuki hotel if your flight is in the morning). Meals and accommodation are provided at the hotel.

• Day 2 : Nairobi to Mountain Kenya National Park

  After breakfast, we will drive towards Mount Kenya National Park, making stopovers at the equator and Nanyuki town, where we will meet our crew, including our guide, cook, and porters.
  
  We will continue our journey along the Sirimon route to the Sirimon Park Gate, located at 2,675 meters above sea level.
  
  After lunch, we will undertake an acclimatization walk for 3-4 hours to Old Moses Camp, situated at 3,300 meters. This hike is essential for acclimatizing hikers to high altitudes in preparation for the trekking ahead.
  
  We will have dinner and spend the night at the camp.

• Day 3 : Old Moses Camp to Shiptons Camp

  After breakfast, we will hike the moorland through Mackinder's Valley to Shipton's Camp (4,200 meters). The hike takes approximately 7 to 8 hours, and we will have a packed lunch along the way. The pace will be easy to help us acclimatize for the higher altitudes ahead.
  
  We will have dinner and spend the night at the camp. Dinner will be served early so that trekkers can get enough rest and be prepared for the following day's ascent to the summit (Peak Lenana, 4,895 meters).

• Day 4 : Shiptons Camp to Met Station Camp

  At 3:00 AM, begin the pre-dawn ascent to the summit peak of Mount Lenana, which stands at 4,985 meters. The ascent takes approximately six hours, and trekkers are expected to reach the summit before sunrise, as it becomes cold and chilly afterward. On a clear day, you can see Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and the Indian Ocean, among other sights.
  
  After summiting, descend via the western route through the Teleki Valley to Mackinder's Camp at 4,200 meters for a short rest. From there, continue your descent to Met Station Camp at 3,030 meters for dinner and an overnight stay at a lower altitude.

• Day 5 : Met Station Camp to Nairobi Hotel

  After breakfast, descend through the true forest to Naromoru Park Gate (1875 meters) for transfer to Nairobi. Here, you will have time to bid farewell to our crew.
