Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival

  Arrive in Douala International airport. Camtourventures Only package services begin with a single, timed transfer to the group hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
• Day 2 : A first look at the bustling capital city of Cameroon

  After breakfast at the hotel we have a first look at the bustling capital city of Cameroon on a guided tour. In the afternoon we transfer (2 hours) to the town of Buea at the foot of Mount Cameroon.
• Day 3 : Man`s Spring

  From Buea we have a short transfer up to the starting point of our trek at around 1000 metres. Starting in lush forest we make a gradual ascent of the lower slopes of Mount Cameroon over gentle grassland slopes and then steeper slopes of lava flows and cinder scree to reach our camp at Man`s Spring (2300m.) 6 - 7 hours hiking. 1250m. ascent
• Day 4 : Acclimatisation

  A day for acclimatisation, we explore the fascinating lunar landscape of the summit plateau visiting the fumaroles and lava flows of the recent eruptions of 1999 and 1982. We spend a second night at Man`s Spring camp. 6 hours hiking.
• Day 5 : Summit day

  We make an early start for the climb to the summit of Mount Cameroon. The gradient is easier today and it will take around 4 - 5 hours to each the highest [point in West Africa at 4095 metres. We descend part way down the mountain to a camp at 2850 metres. 6 - 7 hours. Ascent 1750m. / Descent 1200m. We complete the descent passing the Man`s Spring Camp and down into the forest, eventually reaching Buea where we check into our hotel and have the rest of the day to relax and explore.
• Day 6 : We drive back to Douala

  with stops in several villages en-route. Arriving back in the capital we will have the use of shared 'day rooms' at the group hotel to freshen up before transferring to the airport for the return flight.
