Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Jorhat Airport - Sangsua/Gatoonga T.E.(30 min.)

  Upon arrival at Jorhat Airport, transfer to Sangsua/Gatoonga Tea Estate. Jorhat District forms an important part of Eastern Assam known as the major tea belt in Assam. Assam is the single largest tea producer in the world with a share of more than 20%. Assam tea is known for its strong liquor. Assam Orthodox tea has bagged the coveted GI status in India equivalent to a Patent.
  
  In the afternoon, enjoy a tea tour involving a factory visit to see how tea is manufactured. Overnight at a Heritage Tea Garden bungalow.

• Day 2 : Sangsua/Gatoonga T.E.:

  Option 1: Sangsua/Gatoonga T.E.-Sivasagar-(90 min.)
  Full day excursion to Sivasagar, the power centre of the mighty Ahoms who ruled Greater Assam nearly 6 centuries. The Tai(or Thai) Ahoms belonging to the Shan race migrated to Assam from the Yunan province of China in 1228 A.D. and were in power till Assam fell to the British in 1826 A.D.. This Ahom rule is the golden era of Assam history where Assam witnessed a high level of civilization. Sivasagar is dotted with wonderful Ahom monuments reflecting a powerful empire.
  
  We start off with Charaideo Maidam(burial vaults where Tai Ahom royals were buried in mounds), Gargaon Palace, Shiva Dol (temple), massive Sivasagar and Joysagar Water tanks, Ranghar (Amphitheatre) and Talatal ghar (palace having underground storey and tunnels connecting Gargaon Palace some 16 km away and Dikhow river 3 km away now kept blocked). Later return to Sangsua/Gatoonga T.E. in the afternoon.
  
  Option 2: At leisure at the bungalow. Explore endless tea plantations on foot and play golf.

• Day 3 : Sangsua/Gatoonga T.E.-Barapani Lake (7-8 hr)

  Transfer to Barapani Lake near Shillong in the state of Meghalaya. Overnight at Rikynjai Resort.

• Day 4 : Barapani Lake-Mawlynnong Village (2.5 hr)

  Cherrapunjee (2 hr): First half at leisure in the resort by the lake. Later after lunch transfer to Mawlynnong Village. Upon arrival we visit the Sky View Point, a bamboo-cane tree top machan from where you can have a clear view of Bangladesh some 3 km away. Afterwards, we take a short trek to see the awesome living root bridge of a rubber tree over a fast flowing stream.
  
  Later transfer to Cherrapunjee, famed for being the wettest place on earth. Overnight at Polo Orchid Resort.

• Day 5 : Cherrapunjee

  Full day at Cherrapunjee. We visit Nohkalikai falls, Mawsmai Cave, Thangkharang Park, Eco Park, Dainthlan Falls etc. Overnight at Polo Orchid Resort.

• Day 6 : Cherrapunjee-Guwahati (05 hr)

  Transfer to Guwahati. On the way visit Elephant falls near Shillong. Upon arrival at Guwahati we check in at our resort. Later we go out to enjoy a river cruising on the mighty river Brahmaputra. Overnight at Greenwood Resort.
