Platteklip Gorge is the shortest route straight up to the summit. Probably the most popular route as it is clearly visible and the path follows underneath the cable car. Straight up makes Platteklip Gorge one of the most strenuous routes to the summit with a climb from 350m above sea level at the bottom station of the cable car to 1020m above sea level when you reach the top. The beauty of nature that you will experience and the wide angle views will make every step worth your while.

This graceful mountain that towers over Cape Town is a hiker鈥檚 paradise with many awesome hiking trails that lead to the summit. These vary from leisurely climbs to more strenuous ascents for those of us with an appetite for a good challenge and a bit of adventure!
