We Depart from London On An Overnight Flight to Cape Town.
Upon Arrival, We Transfer to Our Hotel, Leave Our Luggage and Enjoy a Wander Along the V&a Waterfront, Before Checking Into Victoria & Alfred Hotel Early Afternoon. Depart Early Evening for Our First Tastings of South African Wines At Leading Constantia Producer, Buitenverwachting. Following Our Tasting We Will have Dinner At Buitenverwachting鈥檚 Restaurant 鈥 One of the Most Prominent Restaurants of the Cape.
We Depart Cape Town First Thing this Morning and Travel to the Upper Reaches of Stellenbosch for a Wildlife Drive in the Conservation Park of Villiera Wines. Villiera have Joined with a Neighbouring Farm to Create a Conservation Sanctuary to Introduce Wildlife, Encourage Birdlife and Create Local Employment Opportunities. We Enjoy a Tasting of Villiera Wines After Our Drive, Before Heading to Another Stellenbosch Winery for Lunch At Their Winery Restaurant. We Depart Mid Afternoon for Our Journey South, Down to the Dramatically Sited Coastal Village of Hermanus. Dinner is Included this Evening.
Our First Visit this Morning is to Newton Johnson, in the Upper Hemel En Aaarde Valley. the Focus Here is On Producing High Quality Pinot Noir with Limited Intervention in Both the Vineyard and Winery. the Winery Occupies a Dramatic Site High Up in the Valley with Wonderful Views Down to the Atlantic Ocean. After Our Tasting We Travel the Short Distance Back Down the Valley to Walker Bay Pioneers 鈥 Hamilton Russell Vineyards. the Exact Anthony Hamilton Russell Continues to Produce World Class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that Can Stand Shoulder to Shoulder with the Best Examples from Around the World. this is Always a Real Highlight of Our Tour. Olive Hamilton Russell is a Renowned Chef and Her Book 鈥渁 Year On a Cape Wine Estate鈥, Provides a Fascinating Read. We Enjoy Further Wines with Lunch Here. We Return to Hermanus for Late Afternoon and the Rest of the Evening is Free. After a Full Day, You May like to Enjoy a Stroll Along the Hermanus Waterfront, as Always You are Welcome to Join the Wine Guide and Tour Manager for a Light Supper.
We Travel East of Hermanus Today to Visit Springfontein; a Visionary Estate Committed to Organic and Integrated Farming. We Will Visit Both the Vineyards and the Winery Before Enjoying Lunch in Their Contemporary Dining Room, Accompanied By These Outstanding Wines. Dinner is Not Included Tonight But You are Welcome to Join the Wine Guide and Tour Manager At Their Choice of Restaurant.
We Check Out this Morning and Head North, Stopping En-route At Paul Cluver Wines. Paul Cluver Pioneered the Elgin Region in the Late 80鈥檚, and Today Produces a Full Range of Wines Including Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Along with Aromatics Riesling and Gewurztraminer. We Stop for Lunch Before Arriving At Our Final Destination 鈥 Riebeeck Kasteel, in the Swartland Region, to the North of the Cape. Dinner is Not Included Tonight.
Today We Visit David and Nadia Wines At Their Remote Winery On the Paardebosch Farm. Their Range Includes a Chenin Blanc from Some Old Bush Vine and They are Experimenting with Marsanne. the Wines are Structurally Light, Elegant and Delicate But with Great Depth of Flavour. After Our Time Here We Head to the Malbec King in the Form of Hugo Basson At Annex Kloof and Here We have the Opportunity to Taste These Powerful Wines Over Lunch. the Rest of the Afternoon is Free to Explore the Small Village of Riebeeck Kasteel. Dinner is Included Tonight.
We Check Out this Morning and Our First Visit is to Vondeling Wine, Where Winemaker Matthew Copeland Produces a Range of Outstanding Wines from Rhone like Blends to An Excellent Pinotage. We Then Travel Onto the University Town of Stellenbosch Arriving for a Late Lunch (not Included). this Afternoon There is An Optional Wine Visit and Dinner this Evening is Free to Spend How You Wish.
Our Morning Will Start with a Trip to Reyneke Wines, Where Ecology and Respect for the Land are Held in the Highest Regard. among the First to Be Registered Biodynamic, this Winery is Unique Because It Supports Its Staff Through the Brand Cornerstone. the Profits from Sales of Its Wines are Put Towards Projects that Benefit Employees and Their Families. Later, We Move On to Jordan Vineyards 鈥 One of South Africa鈥檚 Leading Wineries 鈥 for Lunch as Well as a Sumptuous Tasting Experience. in the Afternoon, We Visit Kanonkop Wine Estate Where We Will Experience a Fantastic Barbecue Dinner Hosted By the Winery鈥檚 Owners Alongside a Special Tasting.
The Keermont Vineyards in Stellenbosch Take Centre Stage for Us this Morning as We Tour this Boutique Wine Estate and Discover Its Rich Heritage. Winemaker, Alex Starey Will Oversee Every Aspect of Production, from Planting, Picking and Vinification. the Winery is Situated in the Natural Amphitheatre Between the Helderberg and Stellenbosch Mountain Ranges with Stunning Views. Lunchtime is Free in Stellenbosch Before An Optional Afternoon Wine Visit. Dinner is Included this Evening.
Today is Our Final Day and We Begin with a Visit to the Glenelly Wine Estate, Which is a True Family Business. the Estate Includes a Tasting Room, Bistro and Even a Glass Museum. After the Tasting We Will Stay in Stellenbosch for An Independent Lunch (not Included) and Free Time to Explore the Town. Later, We Return to Cape Town and have a Little Leisure Time At the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Before Transferring to the Airport for Our Overnight Flight Back to London.
