Day 1 : Arrival New Delhi International Airport.
You will be met from your flight to Delhi International Airport by Summit Safari鈥檚 representative, and he will accompany you to your hotel in Delhi. Rest of the day is free at leisure to relax after the flight.
Day 2 : Delhi to Chandigarh by Train ( 250 kms / 3.30 hrs) and further by road to Bilaspur ( 140 kms / 4 hr
Early in the morning, you will be assisted to board the super fast Shatabdi Express train from New Delhi ( 07:40 A.M) to Chandigarh ( 11:10 A.M). Breakfast will be served to you on this first class train. On arrival at Chandigarh railway station, you will be met by our driver and we will drive you further to Bilaspur ( 140 kms / 4 hrs). Where you have a choice to stay in a hotel, or even a village home stay could be arranged for you, in a local village 15 kms further from Bilaspur at village Panjgain where you can enjoy your stay to live with the local Indian Family for a night.
Day 3 : Bilaspur to Manali 2,050 metres / 6,726 feet ( 170 kms / 6-7 hrs).
Today after Breakfast we will drive you to Manali via , Mandi, Pandoh Dam, Aut, Kullu . The route from Mandi to Manali is full of scenic beauty and we will stop for various comfort breaks and picture breaks of waterfalls, rivers, and traditional wooden bridges across the Beas River. We will stop at Pandoh Dam, Hanogi devi temple and if interested you can also visit the Shawl weaving factories and the Vaishno devi temple at Kullu. We will arrive Manali by late afternoon. Even is free to explore the local market or old Manali village. Overnight stay in hotel in Manali.
Day 4 : Manali to Jispa 3,200 metres / 10,500 feet (138 kms / 7 hrs)
Today after breakfast we will make a early start and on the way cross the Rohtang pass (3,980 meters/ 13,ooo feet) meaning the 鈥 Pass Of Corpses鈥. We entered into the Lahaul valley as soon as we cross the Rohtang pass. Lunch will be in a local eating place at Khoksar and further we continue our drive to Jispa through Tandi and Keylong. We will arrive Jispa by late afternoon, which itself is a very tiny the night at the tiny settlement with a couple of local houses, hotels and camps. Jispa sits at the foot of the mighty 16,000-foot Baralacha Pass at an altitude of some 10,500 feet 鈥 again providing valuable acclimatisation time before heading really high on the Manali Leh Road.
Day 5 : Jispa to Sarchu. 4,290 metres 14,500 feet (85 kms / 4 hrs)
Today after breakfast we will drive you to Sarchu over the our second mountain pass, Baralacha La (4,830 metres/ 15, 847 feet), during the tour. The view from the top is extraordinary. Today we enter from the brown mountains to golden sandy mountains. On the other side of Baralacha descend onto a huge, open plain with an azure river frothing at its centre, surrounded by huge mountains. Sarchu is situated on the border of Jammu-and-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh states and is where we will stay in a fixed tented accommodation in a seasonal camp.
Day 6 : Sarchu To Leh. 3,524 metres / 11,562 feet ( 252 kms / 8-9 hrs)
After breakfast around 08:00 A.M we will leave for Leh. Today we ride through 21 hair pin bends to Lachlung La Pass (5,019 metres/ 16, 467 feet) and enroute we enjoy magnificent views of the Mountains and the valleys. We will also cross Naki La Pass (4,740 metres/ 15,551 feet) before we ride down into the valley to Pang . Today there are chances to see the Snow ibex and the herds of wild Himalayan blue sheep in between Sarchu to Pang. Lunch will be taken at the small eating places with fresh food at village of Pang, before we ride through the vast More Plains The highest of the Tibetan Plateau at 4,200 metres鈥 to Tsokor lake. This region also has rare wild life like the Tibetan wild Ass, wolf, and the elusive Snow Leopard, the black-necked Crane and Tibetan Snow Cock. We Continue driving to Tanglang La pass (5280 Mts.) the second highest Motorable pass in the world that commands breath taking views of the Zanskar range and the upper Indus valley. We stop on the way in the local eating places to sip a cup of tea and while following the Indus river and the spectular mountains views with green fields and purple mountains, sandy landscape we arrive in Leh by evening 鈥 the capital of Ladakh valley, by late afternoon. Overnight stay in Hotel in Leh.
Day 7 : Local Leh
Today after breakfast around (10:00 A.M) we will leave for a easy , sightseeing tour with local guide including, a visit to the Thiksey Monastery, stok palace and village. We will be back to Leh by late afternoon and in the evening visit Shanti Stupa and Leh fort, rest of the time free to walk around the local market of Leh. Second night in same hotel in Leh.
Day 8 : Leh to Pangong Lake (150 kms 鈥 5 hrs , 4,350 metres / 14,300 feet)
After breakfast we will be driving you to Pangong Lake (4,350 metres /14,500feet). Today we will cross Changla Pass 17,350 ft. It is the third Highest Motorable road in the world. Pangong Lake is the largest lake in the Himalayas situated at a height of about 4,350 metres (14,300 ft). It is 134 km long and extends from India to China (Chinese occupied Tibet) 60% of the length of the lake lies in China. The lake is 5 km wide at its broadest point. Spangmik, the farthest point to which foreigners are permitted, is only some seven km along the southern shore from the head of the lake, but it affords spectacular views of the mountains of the Changchenmo range to the north, their reflections shimmering in the ever-changing blues and greens of the lake鈥檚 brackish waters. Overnight in luxury tented accommodation at Spangmik- Pangong Lake at Alpen glow camp/ similar in Leh.
Day 9 : Pangong Lake to Leh Back.
Today after Breakfast we will spend our time walking around the lake and later drive you back to Leh town over the same route, on the way back there are chances to see marmots and even to meet the Nomadic people who come to the nearby mountains of Changla pass with their Yaks. Reach Leh by evening. Overnight in hotel in Leh.
Day 10 : Leh to Deskit 鈥 Hunder -Nubra valley -3,100 metres 10170 feet)
After breakfast we will drive you on the Ancient Silk Route from to Nubra valley, over the world鈥檚 highest Motorable road Kardungla Pass- 18,380 feet will drive you to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft). Arrive at Deskit and check in to your hotel and after lunch drive to Hunder village (6-8 kms) where you can visit the sand dunes and enjoy the ride on double humped Bactrian camel. These double humped camels are left here from the time when silk caravans stopped trading through the old traditional routes in the modern times. Overnight in Nubra Deluxe Camp / hotel at Nubra.
Day 11 : Nubra to Leh back.
After Breakfast we will visit the local monastery in Deskit and further drive you back to Leh town over the Khardung La pass and will reach Leh by late afternoon. Evening we will visit Shanti Stupa and will have a walking tour in the local market of Leh town. Overnight in hotel at Leh.
Day 12 : Fly from Leh to Delhi.
After breakfast, in the morning we will assist you to Leh airport to board the flight back to New Delhi. After your arrival at New Delhi airport you will be met & assisted by Summit Safari鈥檚 representative, and he will accompany you to your hotel. Check in at your hotel and have time to fresh up yourself, later on you may wish to go for a sightseeing tour of Delhi to view some of the famous sights of the town with a guide. We will take a walking tour of the Old Delhi covering the Chandani Chowk, historic Red Fort, and the busy market. If interested we will arrange for a bicycle rickshaw ride in old Delhi or a Tuk- Tuk ( Three wheeler ) ride in New Delhi for you. We will also visit Gandhi Smriti, also known as the Birla house where 鈥揗ahatma Gandhi had lived the last 144 days of his life from 09 September 1947 to 30 January 1948 when he was assassinated in 78th year of life at Birla House Prayer Grounds by Nathuram Godse . Thus, the house treasures many memories of his life. Return back to your hotel in the evening. Overnight stay in hotel in Delhi.
Day 13 : Fly back to your country.
Today after breakfast at your hotel, you will be assisted and will be transfer to the international airport at New Delhi to board your return flight.
This is where the tour ends. However, if you wish to stay longer in Delhi or want to take extension tour, we can make arrangements for you to be transferred to the airport at a later time.
