Kuari is a well known name to those interested in trekking. It is a favorite camping spot approached through a narrow goat trek route. It offers panoramic views of the Himalayas to the north-east and the vast stretches of valleys to the south-east. Kuari, which basically means a 鈥渄oorway鈥�, is a mountain pass situated in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand in the Chamoli district.
To the north of the Kuari Pass is the Chaukhamba range, while summits of Mana (7272 m), Kamet (7756 m), Abhigamini (7355 m) extends to the Tibet border. A number of spectacular peaks including Nanda Devi, Doonagiri, Bethartoli, Hathi Parbat and Changabang can be seen.
The trek to the Kuari Paas can be organized from Ramni, Joshimath and Dhak. The trek route from Ramni is the longest. The trek passes through a picturesque area around Ramni, and then trails along to Sarkot and Sanatoli.
The Kuari Pass trek found fame in the early 1905鈥檚 when heroic adventurer and mountaineer Lord Curzon used the passage in his pioneering explorations of the region. The Kuari Pass trek is known as the Curzon Trail (named after the former British viceroy of India 鈥淟ord Curzon鈥�). This trail is very famous among European and American travelers.Porter/mule for personal luggage.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 :

  Drive from Haridwar to Joshimath聽 (8 to 9 hours) by Jeep on sharing basis & an overnight hotel stay
• Day 2 :

  Drive from Joshimath 聽to Gorson (3510 m) 鈥� 13 kms drive to Auli 鈥� 5 kms trek 鈥� Overnight stay in tents on sharing basis
• Day 3 :

  Trek from Gorson to Khulara (8 kms)
• Day 4 :

  Trek from Khualara to Kuari Pass (4268 m) to Pangarchulla (5700 m) and Khulara (9 kms)
• Day 5 :

  Trek from Khulara to Tapovan to Joshimath
• Day 6 :

  Drive from Joshimath to Haridwar
