Tapta Kund

The hot sulphur springs of Tapta Kund have medicinal properties. The two water ponds in the temple are called Narad Kund and Surya Kund. The pilgrims take a holy dip for redemption before entering the temple.

The Panch Badris

The four smaller badri temples are called The Panch Badris.
Yogadhyan Badri located at Pandukeshwar, a tiny hamlet, 24 kms from the main temple.
Bhavishya Badri located at 17 kms from Joshimath.
Vriddha Badri located at 7 kms from Joshimath.
Adi Badri located at 17 kms from Karnaprayag.

The Panch Dharas

Prahlad, Kurma, Urvasi, Brighu and Indra Dharasu are The Panch Dharas.

The Shesh Netra

A large block of stone carries the impression of the legendary serpent.

Neelkantha Peak

Neelkanth peak (6,596 m) popularly known as the 鈥楪arhwal Queen鈥�, towers over Badrinath is a shining pyramid of white. It is the mountainous form of the Lord.

The Temple to a celestial nymph 鈥� Urvashi

A temple on the outskirts of the Bemni village is dedicated to Urvashi 鈥� the ravishing nymph sent by Indra to disturb Nar and Narayan who were performing penance.

Charanpaduka

Footprints of Lord Vishnu are visible of a boulder when he descended from Vaikunth.

Brahma Kapal

A platform on the bank of river Alaknanda is where Hindus offer 鈥減inds鈥� for the deceased ancestors.

Mata Murti Mandir

A temple dedicated to the mother of Sri Badrinath which lies on the right bank of river Alaknanda.

Mana Village

The last Indian village on the Indo-Tibet border is where mountaineers come to climb Neelkantha and Chaukhamba.

Vyas Cave

It is believed that Ved Vyas wrote the whole account of Mahabharata in this cave.

Vasudhara Falls

At a distance of 8 kms from the main temple are the mighty Vasudhara falls.

Swargarohini

Seven steps of snow that is believed to lead to heaven. It believed that after the war of Mahabharata the Pandavas came to Satopanth valley, in search of peace and on the way to Satopanth, all four brothers Bheema, Arjuna, Nakul & Sahadev died along with Draupadi. Yudhisthira, the eldest of Pandavas could reach to Satopanth and from Swargarohini he ascended to heaven alive.

Satopanth Lake

At a distance of 26 kms from Badrinath is the glacial lake located in the midst of snow-capped peaks at an altitude of 4600 m above sea-level. It is believed that on its three corners meditated the holy trio 鈥� Branhma, Vishnu and Mahesh. The lake is considered to be of religious significance to the local residents of Mana, a village 3 kms ahead of Badrinath.

Alkapuri

The Alkapuri glacier is 15 kms from Badrinath is the source of the mighty Alaknanda.

Pandukeshwar

Nearest聽village, 聽is 25聽kms from the temple. Badrivishal Ji worshipped here after closing the Badrinath temple till opening time. some other say that winter home of Badrinath ji is Joshimath, it is totally fake.

Auli

Delight for winter sports enthusiasts is 57 kms from Badrinath,聽is surrounded by coniferos聽and oak forests, with a panoramic view of the peaks of the Himalayas.

Govindghat

The confluence of Alaknanda and Laksham Ganga rivers. Known as base camp for Valley of Flowers & Hemkund Sahib Trek.

Hemkund Sahib

Gurudwara Sri Hemkund Sahib Ji, is a Sikh place of worship and pilgrimage site in Chamoli district devoted to Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The setting of a glacial lake surrounded by seven mountain peaks is in itself a grand sight.

Valley of Flowers

An exotic valley which lies on the east of Badrinath is a 19 kms trek from Govindghat. Ghangariya is the base camp for the Valley of Flowers trek and Hemkund Sahib. The trek from Govindghat to Ghangariya is common to the Sikh Temple at Hemkund and a trekker is likely to find many pilgrims on the route.Any Personal expenses.
