Package Overview

Here is a trek that takes you half way round Garhwal from the Bhagirathi Valley to the Alaknanda Valley. A tour that gives a thrill to even the most seasoned of climbers. The trek starts from Gangotri and takes you through the Gangotri Glacier to Nandanvan, the base of the Bhagirathi peaks, a place that offers an unparallel view of the Shivling peak. The trail moves along the Chaturangi Glacier to Vasukital. With towering peaks all around the lake, its surface shimmers like a pearl and is the source of the Vasuki Ganga that drains into the Mandakini. As we proceed to cross the Kalindikhal pass we experience many majestic setting of snow peaks in Garhwal Himalayas Mt. Kamet, Mt. Satopant, Vasuki Parbat& many others. After crossing Kalindi-khal, the trail then descends to Arwatal and to Mana the last village on the Chinese frontier. The trek fittingly ends at Badrinath with a visit to the holy temple.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Reporting Haridwar. Drive to Uttarkashi (3140m / 10300ft; 190 Kms; 7 Hrs)

  Early morning reporting at Haridwar railway station. Immediate drive to Uttarkashi, our base for this trek. Uttarkashi is mid size settlement and popular for its best climbing Institute in India. Inner line formalities and Overnight stay in a small & clean guesthouse / Hotel.
• Day 2 : Uttarkashi to Gangotri

  After breakfast drive 100km; 4hrs to Gangotri via beautiful mountain scenery of 鈥渧alley of Ganges鈥�. Overnight stay in a guesthouse / Hotel.

• Day 3 : Gangotri to Chidbasa (3792m / 12438ft; 9 Kms; 3 to 4 Hrs)

  The trek begins. Carrying just our essentials in a backpack, a leisurely walk of 9 km gets us to our first tented camp by the waters of Bhagirathi, amongst trees of birch and pine (Chid), at Chidbasa. Overnight Camping.

• Day 4 : Chidbasa to Bhojwasa & Visit to Gaumukh (3600m; 13kms; 4-5hrs)

  After breakfast we wind up camp and proceed to Bhojwasa (5km). Interacting with pilgrims - our companions on this route 鈥� it is an experience in itself! The first glimpse of Mt. Shivling en route is breathtaking! We reach Bhojwasa and we will make an excursion to Goumukh (Snout of famous Gangotri glacier); return to Bhojwasa for hot lunch. Overnight camping.

• Day 5 : Bhojwasa - Tapovan (4463m / 14639ft; 6 to 7 Hrs)

  We will walk through Goumukh again and crossing the Gangotri Glacier to its true left side and climb up onto the alpine meadow of Tapovan (4463m / 14639ft). Tapovan is large high altitude meadow and base camp for climbing Mt Shivling and Mt Meru. Overnight stay in tented camp. This would be photographer鈥檚 paradise.

• Day 6 : Tapovan to Nandavan (4500m / 14760 Ft; 5 to 6 Hrs)

  After breakfast we start our trek to Nandanvan (4500m / 14760ft) the base of the Bhagirathi peaks across Gangotri Glacier, which approximately takes 5 鈥� 6 hrs. From here we have glorious views of Mt. Shivling and Meru. Overnight Camping.

• Day 7 : Nandanvan to Vasukital (4868m / 15967ft; 7 Kms; 4 to 5 Hrs)

  Trek along the Chaturangi Glacier to Vasukital. A steady climb will get us to the campsite near a small lake. Overnight camping.

• Day 8 : Rest Day At Vasukital

  Rest day at Vasukital. Overnight camping at Vasukital.

• Day 9 : Vasukital to Khada Pathar (5456m / 17895ft; 6 Kms; 4 to 5 Hrs)

  After breakfast we start our 6 km trek to Khada Pathar (5456m / 17895ft). Crossing the Satopanth Glacier we reach Khada Pathar in approximately 4 鈥� 5 hrs. Overnight camping.

• Day 10 : Khada Pathar to Sweta Glacier (5500m / 18040ft; 10 Kms; 6-7 Hrs)

  After walking for 6-7 hours on the glacier we would need to camp on the glacier. This would be a long tiring day.
• Day 11 : Sweta Glacier to Base of Kalindi

  A long day walking on moraine with greater views of Sweta, Chandra and many other peaks.
• Day 12 : Base of Kalindi - Kalindi Pass - Raiparav (4910m / 16104ft; 12 Kms; 7 to 8 Hrs)

  After an early breakfast we start our trek and cross Kalindi Pass (5947m / 19506ft) and then start descending to arrive at Rajparav. Overnight camping at Rajparav. In a clear day we can see many peaks like Kamet (7757m), Mana (7272m).

• Day 13 : Rajparav to Arwatal (3910m / 12824ft; 13 Kms; 5 to 6 Hrs)

  After breakfast we continue our descent with crossing Saraswati River. Rest of the day is walking on boulder filled meadows
• Day 14 : Arwatal to Ghastoli (3796m / 12450ft; 16 Kms; 5 to 6 Hrs)

  Today鈥檚 walk is more gradual with fantastic views of many named and unnamed rocky peaks and spires. Camp near a beautiful groundwater pool.
• Day 15 : Ghastoli to Badrinath (3100m / 10168ft; 16 Kms; 5 to 6 Hrs)

  Our last day walk is mostly on army road, we can visit Bheem pul and Mana village at the end. We meet our waiting vehicle at Mana. Drive 3 km to Badrinath.Overnight stay in a small & clean guesthouse / Hotel.
• Day 16 : Badrinath to Haridwar

  After breakfast drive to Haridwar. Drop to Haridwar station. Final Departure. Trip Ends
