Package Overview

In this tour we will discover the Eastern part of Crete.

We begin our tour with the visit to the Archaeological Site Gournia which is located near the village of Pahia Ammos. And then through the magnificent route with spectacular views we will reach the town of Sitia.

After visiting Sitia we continue our trip to one of the most significant and richest monasteries – Toplou. Fortress-like, full of great works of art and treasures, it was always a target for pirates. In spite of that the monks managed to preserve its beauty and found a museum that displays icons of great artistic value, bibles, rare artifacts and documents. Also they produce and sell excellent organic products as wine, raki and olive oil.

Leaving the monastery we head to the village of Palekastro, where we make a stop for lunch in one of the local taverns.

After the lunch we will make our last stop on the famous Vai Palm Beach, a place of inconceivable beauty. The tropical forest, located at the exit of a narrow valley and very near the beach, the thick sand dunes, the rare plants form a real oasis in the desert-like landscape. Here you will have enough time to enjoy the crystal clear waters, as well as the shade of the huge palm trees.
