4 Nights / 5 Days
This program was developed choosing the deepest cultural activities carefully, so they can merge culture, nature, learning, cultural exchange, condor sightings, involvement with native communities heirs of a vast ancient culture, and a different approach of Cusco and Machu Picchu.
We leave our hotel in Cusco and walk around the San Pedro Market where samples of our cultural diversity and cultural exchanges are gathered, in the Center of the World.
After a welcome lunch we will move to Pisac.
At night we will have a cultural show and we will enjoy a night full of music and dancing with profound explanations, and the sharing of stories that will connect us to the cosmic cycles of nature in the Andes. This festive show of music and dancing demonstrates the ritual Andean calendar celebrated in Kusi Kawsay (Living Happy) and Kusi 脩an (Being happy)
The dinner is optional.
At 7:45, we will leave the hotel and take a 10 minute walk to visit the Andean School Kusi Kawsay. We will have a short introduction to this exceptional educational program which has a unique vision that puts together elements of the Waldorf pedagogy and the Andean tradition. We will arrive just on time to admire the joyful students and their dedicated teachers in their every-morning rhythm at their classrooms. We will experiment the seasonal song of every grade to start the day. We will be inspired by the explanations while we visit the school and learn about the pillars of the Andean Culture, the music, and sacred geometry that is taught at Kusi Kawsay. We will participate in a ritual song and we will connect and honor this land and culture.
At 10:00 am, we will go to Kusi 脩an organic farm to participate in this young people鈥檚 inspiring project. We will enjoy a snack before starting a guided tour across the garden, trying the products. We will experience an enriching cultural immersion working together with the young people who perform their ancestral culture in agriculture and music linked to the Andean calendar. We will learn about the values 鈥嬧媜f reciprocity and respect, harvesting products for lunch at the 鈥淐uchara de Palo鈥 restaurant and exploring the richness of Peruvian culinary art. After lunch we will return to the city of Cusco.
In the morning we will head to the town of Chonta, home of the majestic Andean Condor.
We will visit Killarumiyoc, the temple of the Mama Quilla (Mother Moon), Quechua name that identifies the moon which is associated with the female energy, responsible for the field productivity. Then we will arrive in Chonta, and after a hike of an hour and a half in the territory of the Andean Condor we will get to the sighting points and we will see this Apu (Quechua word that means vigilant spirit) in its majestic flight from the Canyon towards the blue sky. In the afternoon we will head to Ollantaytambo, the last Inca Town which preserves the Inca urban structure. We will spend the night in a hotel in Ollantaytambo.
After having breakfast in the hotel, we will take the bus which will transport us on a 30 minute journey to the Llaqta of Machu Picchu (Town of Machu Picchu). Here we will have a guided tour and you will be able to take photos and record videos.
After the breakfast according to the flight schedules, we will go to Cusco airport to start the departure, with the promise to relive this beautiful experience.
