Check-in and relax, in the evening we shall proceed towards an Indian Restaurant for Dinner. We recommend you to go for a Golden Mask Show tonight (at an additional cost). Set in the Golden Mask Dynasty, a legendary age in China, the story tells how a queen, who wears a golden mask, creates a splendid dynasty. The play has eight chapters and included more than 200 actors from China and abroad. Day 2 : Beijing
Beijing - Great Wall of China experience
Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast at your hotel and get ready to explore Beijing. First we take you to the the Jade factory to have a look at how beautifully jade is carved by sculptors to create jewellery. You can also choose to purchase some souveniers from here. Later, proceed to Juyong pass of the Great wall.
The section of the Great Wall at Juyong Pass is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Around the Pass are rolling mountains, winding streams and lush vegetation. Because of this, it was hailed as one of the eight most beautiful scenic spots in Beijing during the Qing Dynasty.
In the afternoon, we proceed to visit the Silk factory on the way back to city post which we take a photo stop at Beijing's famous Olympic stadium, i.e. Bird鈥檚 Nest & Water Cube. Both are architecural wonders that have become a major tourist attraction over the years.
We recommend going for a Kungfu show in the evening at an additional cost, hosted by CHC at the Red Theatre. Its a must-see production in Beijing for tourists and Kung Fu lovers. A group of the best Kung Fu practitioners of China are collected and the best directors and designers of the country are invited. There are English subtitles shown above the stage to keep you informed of the story line but the show has no dialogues, only Kung fu, dance and acrobatics. The fusion of modern dance with Chinese traditional martial arts makes this performance unique and spectacular.
In the evening we shall proceed for dinner at an Indian restaurant.
Overnight in Beijing
Day 3 : Beijing City tour
Beijing City tour
Enjoy your breakfast in the morning, post which we visit Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Summer Palace.
Tiananmen square is a famous monument in Beijing and is widely used as a national symbol. First built during the Ming Dynasty in 1420, Tiananmen is often referred to as the front entrance to the Forbidden City. Tiananmen Square is the largest square in the world, with the towering Monument to the People's Heroes at the center, the magnificent Tiananmen Tower in the north, the solemn Mao Zedong Memorial Hall in the south, the National Museum of China in the east and the Great Hall of the People in the west. Surrounded by these lofty buildings, the Square looks most splendid and majestic .
Forbidden city, also known as the Palace Museum lies at the city center of Beijing, and once served as the imperial palace for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with over 9,000 rooms spread across 250 acres. It was burned down and was rebuilt, sacked and renovated many times, so most of the architecture you can see today dates back to the 18th century in the Qing Dynasty. Since yellow is the symbol of the royal family, it is the dominant color in it. Roofs are built with yellow glazed tiles; decorations in the palace are painted yellow; even the bricks on the ground are made yellow by a special process. Splendid painted decoration on these royal architectural wonders, the grand and deluxe halls, with their surprisingly magnificent treasures will certainly make your visit worthwhile.
The Summer Palace, is said to be the best preserved imperial garden in the world with a big collection of lake, gardens and palaces, and the largest of its kind still in existence in China, covering an area of 70 thousand square meters with over 3000 houses. As its name implies, the Summer Palace was used as a summer residence by China's imperial rulers - as a retreat from the main imperial palace now known as the Palace Museum (or 'Forbidden City').This Palace is virtually a museum of traditional Chinese garden arts that blends rocks, trees, pavilions, lakes, ponds, paths and other features.
Post looking at these beautiful spots, we will take you to the Silk market where you can spend your time shopping.Proceed for dinner at Indian restaurant.
Overnight in Beijing.
Day 4 : Beijing to Shanghai
Beijing to Shanghai (Bullet Train)
Post breakfast, check-out from the hotel and proceed towards the Beijing train station. From there take a 5 hours high speed bullet train ride to Shanghai. Once you reach Shanghai, transfer to your hotel, check-in and relax for the day. In the evening, we would recommend the Acrobatic show. They say you haven't been to Shanghai unless you've seen the acrobats. A multi-million dollar show, Shanghai acrobatic show, featuring the gamut of traditional and contemporary Chinese acrobatics from aerial walking, bowl balancing, and trampoline shows to high flying trapeze acts and motorcycle cage stunts.
Dinner at Indian Restaurant. Overnight at the hotel
Day 5 : Shanghai Exploration tour
Shanghai Exploration tour
Post breakfast, we shall go for a Shanghai tour where we visit Shanghai Museum, Pearl factory, Jade Buddha Temple, Yu Bazzar, Jinmao Tower at 88th Floor, Bund area and Nanjing road.
As a large museum of ancient Chinese art, the Shanghai Museum boasts a collection of 140,000 precious relics, featuring bronzes, ceramics, paintings and calligraphy. The abundance and quality of the collection have enjoyed a high reputation both at home and abroad.
The observation deck on the 88th floor of Jin Mao Tower is a popular tourist attraction in Shanghai which offers scenic views of Shanghai. Two high speed elevators take visitors from the basement to the 88th floor of Jin Mao Tower in approximately 45 seconds which give you a bird's eye view of the city
Bund is the main waterfront central area in Shanghai, with buildings and wharves dotting the one mile road along Huangpu River. The architectural wonders that line across and along the bund are a spectacular watch.
Not to be missed is CHina's premier shopping street- Nanjing road next to Bund. Open-air bars, abstract sculptures, and lingering sounds from street musicians will make your shopping experience in this fashion street a joy.
Post your exploration of Shanghai, proceed for dinner at Indian restaurant.
Overnight in Shanghai
Day 6 : Shanghai
Day at Leisure
Post breakfast, explore Shanghai's city today on your own or you can also take our recommended tour of Huangpu river cruise at an additional cost.
Huangpu River Cruise has been regarded as one of the most important and traditional tourist activities at night. It is known to all that the beautiful Huangpu River, also called the mother of this metropolis, embodies all the essences of Shanghai's attractive scenes.
During the cruise, visitors can enjoy the magnificent scenes on both banks. On the west bank dozens of imposingly tall and distinct buildings of different foreign architectural styles make up a never-to-be-forgotten night scene, forming a sharp contrast with those modern high rises on the east bank.
One of the most enchanting scenes during the cruise is the combination of the world-famed bridges and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Nanpu Bridge and Yangpu Bridge are exactly like two huge dragons while the Oriental Pearl TV Tower looks like a pure pearl. This scene just corresponds to a very popular Chinese legend: ""Two dragons play with a pea鈥. For families, we would recommend spending your day enjoying the Disneyland Park in Shanghai.
