On arrival at the Paro International Airport, you will be received by your local Bhutanese tour guide of our tour company . Transfer to your hotel in Paro and have a refreshment/lunch. Today your Bhutan tour begin by visiting the following:
National Museum: On a ridge immediately above Rinpung Dzong is the Ta Dzong (watchtower), built as a watchtower to protect the Dzong from intruders and warring factions. In 1968 Paro鈥檚 Ta Dzong was inaugurated as the National Museum, and now holds a fascinating collection of art, relics, religious Thangkha paintings, Bhutan鈥檚 exquisite postage stamps, coins and handicrafts, together with a small natural history collection.
Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong): Explore the Rinpung Dzong which the locals call the 鈥榝ortress of a heap of jewels鈥. Built in 1646 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the dzong stands on a hill above Paro Township. It is linked by the traditional cantilever bridge (called the Nemi Zam) over the Pa Chu (Paro river) where one may pose a photograph. Experience a walk up a paved stone path running alongside the imposing outer walls. Once inside the Dzong, you can visit the temples inside the dzong. Farm houses: Picturesque farm houses dot the valley amongst fields and hillsides. A visit to a farm house gives an interesting glimpse into the lifestyle of a farming family.
In the evening you can stroll around Paro town and you may visit local Bhutanese handicraft stores.

After breakfast early in the morning at 5:00-06 AM let us take a day walk for hike to the 鈥楾iger's Nest鈥, the sacred Taktshang monastery which clings to the rock face 900 metres above the valley floor. Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown to the site riding on a tigress. He subsequently meditated here for three months. It is one of Bhutan鈥檚 most holy sites and draws pilgrims not only from Bhutan but also from neighbouring Buddhist countries.You can have lunch at the Taktshang cafeteria from where you get a spectacular view of the monastery. Nearby you can also visit the 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang, a temple of historical significance and one of the most sacred shrines in Bhutan. (Entry Fees Rs 1000 on direct payment basis).
After completing and returning from the Tiger Nest hiking you can do and complete the remaining tour of local sight seeing for the following.

Ta Dzong (National Museum of Bhutan)
The National Museum of Bhutan is housed inside the six storied circular Ta Dzong. The Ta Dzong is a medieval watch tower situated above the Rinpung Dzong. The Ta Dzong was constructed in 1656.
Rinpung Dzong
The ParoDzong is probably Bhutan's best known and most iconic Dzong. This is probably the first building you will notice when you land at Paro International Airportand will probably be your first memory of Bhutan.
Dungtse Lhakhang(Entry Fees Rs 500 on direct payment basis), built in the early 15th century, Dungtse Lhakhang provides with an in-depth knowledge of Buddhism to its visitors. It is located between the valleys of Dopshari and Paro and is in the form of a Chorten which is quite rare and exceptional in Bhutan. The monastery contains a few beautiful Buddhist iconographies and paintings.
Initially constructed by Thangton Gyalpo in 1421, to subdue an evil spirit, it is a three-storey temple, with each storey representing hell, earth and heaven respectively.
The next stop will be at Kyichu Lhakhang/Monastery one of Bhutan鈥檚 oldest, built in 659 A.D. by the Tibetan King Songsten Goembo. Kyichu Lhakhang, (also known as Kyerchu Temple or Lho Kyerchu) is an important Himalayan Buddhist temple situated in Lango Gewog of Paro Dzongkhag in Bhutan. Drugyel Dzong: After that the next stop will be at Drugyel Dzong one of Bhutan鈥檚 oldest Dzong.
After completing all stop over at any center of Hot Stone Bath arranged by the guide. You can also experience hot stone bath.
A traditional hot stone bath (Extra Cost between 1500-2000) uses river rocks that therapists place in water where they crack and steam, releasing key minerals and relieving deep-set aches. In the past, families soaked after their seasonal farm work in winter. The long, healing bath relaxed their tired bodies and always worked to rid them of any ailment they had picked up during the long months of hard work. It is also believed to cure stomach disorders, arthritis, joint pains and many other minor diseases 鈥 though there is no scientific evidence of the healing derived from hot stone bath.

After breakfast early in the morning at 06.00-7.00 AM we will drive for excursion to Chelela and Haa Tour.
Chelela pass to Kelela Geoenpa
After early morning breakfast, we will take you for a morning drive to Chelela Pass. Seeing the view of Kelela Geoenpa is a beautiful and magnificent forest. You will find the forest worthy, where you will see great beautiful clouds, yaks, hemlock trees, wildflowers, tall firs, Paro valley, Haa valley and natural beauty of the forest. You can also see the beautiful mountains of Bhutan such as Mt. Jomolhari (7314 meters/24000 feet), Mt. Jichu Drake (6794 meters/22290 feet) and the world鈥檚 third highest mountain, Kanchenjunga (8586 meters/28169 feet) in a clear weather from the spot.
In Kila Goemba, there are about 40 nuns whose age ranges from 15 to 80. These nuns reside in Kila Goemba as some were orphans and some left their homes and wealth for spiritual happiness. Nuns live here by dedicating their entire life for religion, meditation, studies, prayers and spiritual peace.
The main temple of Kila Goemba has ancient statues such as of Chenrizig (Avalokiteswara) and Guru Rinpoche. Nuns here live a simple lifestyle where their day begins and ends with prayers. The nuns have their breakfast at 10 am where their meal includes rice, vegetables and tea. After the breakfast, they continue with their studies until 9 pm. After the study, they have their simple meal for the night. The nuns are off to bed after their final session of prayers. Older nuns have entered into meditation by retiring while the younger nuns still undergo their dharma studies and even perform religious ceremonies. The courses take about five to six years and after that they start meditation which can take four months to five years.
When you visit this beautiful place, you will witness the atmosphere of peace and discover the undisturbed lives of nuns. One of the interesting things about the nuns here is that they also get lesson in carpentry. You will witness the nuns learning carpentry when you reach the temple.
Visitors usually hike to Kila Gyemba from the Chelela pass which is 25 kilometers from Paro. Chelela pass is located at 3822 meters and is located between Paro and Haa. The hike takes about 1.30 hours through the spectacular views of valleys, pine trees, rhododendron tress and exotic highland flowers such as orchids and blue poppy which is the national flower of Bhutan.
The Chelela pass is the highest road point in Bhutan and people usually come here for picnic. Visitors usually start their hike on early morning around 8 am for fresh view and atmosphere. The pass is beautifully decorated with prayer flags and looks colorful and peaceful as well. Sometimes fogs make the scenes look very breathtaking and beautiful in pictures while captured
It defies natural principles to the core and amazes tourists from around the world. It is a sight to behold.
The Jowo Temple of Kyichu is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. The temple was built by the Tibetan King Songsten Gampo in the 7th Century AD.
After completing the tour of Chelela if the time permit we will go for the local sight seeing and go for strolling around the town.

After breakfast, we will drive towards Punakha via enroute Dochula pass as per the guide鈥檚 guidances,
a 16 kilometers, 40 minutes drive through the winding road, admist the forest of Pines and Juniper and the lovely view of the Simtokha Dzong as we ascend slowly towards Dochu La Pass.
Option: If time permit and and if there is a broad daylight brightness you can enjoy the scenic beauty of Dochula Pass on the way to Punakha. If not you can enjoy the scene beauty of Dochula while returning from Punakha to Thimphu too.

In 2003, Bhutan chased the Indian rebels, hiding in Bhutan in the eastern border, out of the country with a minimal loss to the Bhutan army. Some wanted to erect a monument for the victory, but the King replied that war should never be glorified. So instead he commissioned this monument honoring the dead soldiers and the dead rebels from the conflict.The 108 stupas is a memorial built then.
The Dochula Pass an altitude of about 3100 m is the places where this memorial is built. Set admist the fluttering prayer flags, it is a visitor鈥檚 delight to spend some time here. The pass is popular among the tourists because of its 360 degree panoramic view of Himalayan range. The place is worth going in clear winter days with magnificent view of snowcapped mountains and mountain pass.
The 108 beautiful Chortens is built by Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck. From this pass, on a clear day, you can have a superb view of the highest peaks, the sharp peak being Masagang (7200 m) dominating the region, others are Tsendagang (6960 m), Terigang (7060 m),Jejegangphugang (7158m) and Kangphugang (7170m).
We will spend our time here, taking a stroll in between this 108 chortens, breathing in the fresh air, admiring the mountain ranges and getting lost in nature.
After this wonderful visit, we will take the downhill drive towards Punakha and reach Punakha at 2-3 PM or as per the guide鈥檚 suggestions. On the way stop over at Druk Wangyel Lhakhang and Royal Botanical park at Lamperi.
On reaching Punakha if time permit do the local sight seeing of the following:
Visit by walk up to Khamsum Yullay Namgyal Chorten if not then do the next day.
Evening walk and stroll around the Punakha Township.

Punakha Dzong
On reaching Punakha it is time to take a beautiful visit After your lunch, drive to Punakha, we will visit Punakha Dzong, the most beautiful Dzong in Bhutan built in 1637 by Shabdrung, the spiritual and temporal ruler of Bhutan prior to the present dynasty. It is an old capital, which still serves as the winter residence of the monk body. The first King, Ugyen Wangchuck, was crowned here in 1907. It is now the winter residence of the Central Monastic Community and administrative headquarters of Punakha district.
The PunakhaDzong or the PungtangDechenPhortangDzong is located at the confluence of the Mo Chhu and the Po Chhu River, combine to form the Puna Tsang Chu which in turn is a tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra River. The Dzong was constructed by ZhabdrungNgawangNamgyalWangchuck in 1638.
Next we will see one of the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan, spanning 350m and perched high above the very swift river of Po Chhu. Draped with prayer flags, the bridge connects the town of Punakha and the Punakha Dzong, mainly used by locals from the other side of the town as a shortcut to Punakha Dzong. To start with and enjoy the beauty of the Lhakhang. The monastery stands on a small hill close to the village of Lobesa and was constructed in 1499 by NgawangChoegyel, the 14th Drukpa heirarch(Entry Fees Rs 500 on direct payment basis).
After completing the visit of Chimi Lhakhang we will drive for excursion towards Phobjikha. Then after completing sightseeing at Phobjikha drive back to Punakha. Evening walk and stroll around Punakha.

After breakfast early in the morning drive to Thimphu we will drive for visit Chimi Lhakhang if it was not visited earlier. After completing the visit of Chimi Lhakhang we will drive towards Thimphu via Dochula Pass. On the way visit Botanical Garden at Lam Peri. After that drive towards Dochula Pass. On reaching Dochula Pass we will stroll around Dochula, enjoy sight seeing and photography..

KuenselPhodrang
The KuenselPhodrang or the Buddha point isthe world鈥檚 largest sitting Buddha statue, the statue is 167 feet high. Today after breakfast we will visit Buddha Dordenma, which is one of the largest and tallest Buddha statue in the World at 169 feet. The body of the Buddha is filled with 1,25,000 smaller statues of Buddha. The view of the Thimphu valley is spectacular from this point.
Next visit to the famous landmark of the capital, the Memorial Chorten, consecrated in the memory of the Third kind of Bhutan who is regarded as the father of the modern Bhutan. Just as you enter the Chorten, you will be amazed to witness the local people, young and the old alike, circumambulate the Chorten with the prayer beads or the prayer wheel in hand, murmuring the sacred words of prayers. The tall four storied Chorten contains statues and iconography of deities from the tantric teachings.
After that it is time to witness the National Animal of Bhutan, Takin, at the Takin Reserve. Takin are related to sheep and weigh up 650 kgs. According to the local folktale, the Devine Madman, Drukpa Kuenley, created the Takin by joining the goat鈥檚 head in the body of the Cow. This interesting animal is an endangered species found only in few pockets of the Himalayas.
TashichhoDzong, a Buddhist monastery cum fortress at the northern edge of Thimpu the capital city of Bhutan. The original ThimphuDzong (the Dho-NgyenDzong) is said to have been constructed in 1116 by Lama GyalwaLhanangpa. . (Entry Fees Rs 500 on direct payment basis)
National Memorial Chorten
The National Memorial was built by Bhutan's third king, H.M. JigmeDorjiWangchuck who is also known as the "father of modern Bhutan." National Textile Museum
The second important Museum that also opened its doors in 2001 is the National Textile Museum of Bhutan. During a trip to this museum you will get an up close and personal experience of the living national art of weaving.

Bhutan's National Library was established in the 1967. Its mission is to preserve the literary treasures of the nation which constitute a significant element of Bhutan's rich and vibrant cultural heritage.

Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory
The Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory is a small paper factory located in Thimphu that produces paper using traditional Bhutanese methods.
The paper products produced at the factory are made from Daphne or Mulberry plant bark.
Folk Heritage Museum or 鈥淧helchey Toenkhyim鈥 was established on July 28th, 2001. It was established by the Queen Mother of Bhutan, Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck. The building structure is more than 150 years old. It was set in the core area of Thimphu city with a rural way of life including paddy, wheat, and millet fields. The folk heritage museum was open to the general public in 2001 upon completion. It treasures troves of culture and rich Bhutanese heritage provide rich insights into the Bhutanese ethos.
Simply Bhutan is an interactive 'living' museum that gives a good guided introduction to various aspects of Bhutanese traditional life. Visitors get to learn how to distil ara, dress up in traditional clothes, try out archery and hear songs sung by Bhutanese women as they build houses out of rammed earth.
