The 10 days Bhutan tour itinerary/package is one of the most popular tours in Bhutan with sightseeing combination of western and central Bhutan. Hike to the spectacular Tiger鈥檚 nest monastery. Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival at Paro and drive to Thimphu

  Meet and greet at the Paro Airport (Arrival by flight to Bhutan) and drive to Thimphu.
  
  On the way, a short stop to view Tamchog monastery built in 15th century by Thang Tong Gyalpo (Also called iron bridge builder). His surviving bridge can be seen in eastern Bhutan (Dungsam in eastern Bhutan).
  
  After lunch, visit to:
  
  National memorial chorten built in honor of the late His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.
  Tallest statue of sitting Buddha in the world (51.5 m).
  In the evening, visit to Tashichhodzong, seat of the national government and the central monastic body.
  
  Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

• Day 2 : Sightseeing at Thimphu

  Morning sightseeing tour includes visit to:
  
  General post office where you can make personalized stamps.
  Royal textile museum.
  Painting school (13 arts and crafts) or Zorig chusum.
  After lunch, visit to:
  
  Sangay gang view point.
  Takin preserve center.
  Dupthop nunnery, one of the few surviving nunneries in Bhutan.
  Changangkha lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Thimphu valley built in the 13th century by Phajo Drugom Shigpo.
  In the evening, visit craft bazaar and free to stroll in the town for shopping and photography.

• Day 3 : Thimphu 鈥� Punakha sightseeing | Altitude: 1242 m | 76 Km | Drive: 2 陆 hour.

  Dochu La pass with 108 stupas and also view the higher Himalayas. The annual Druk Wangyel festival is held here on the 13th December.
  Royal botanical garden at Lampelri where annual Rhododendron festival in Bhutan is held.
  Chimi lhakhang (temple of fertility) built in 15th century by Lama Drukpa Kuenley (popularly known as the divine madman of Bhutan).
  After lunch, visit the magnificent Punakha dzong built in the 17th century by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.
  
  In the evening, walk across the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan (160 m) built across Pho chu river.
  
  Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

• Day 4 : Punakha 鈥� Gangtey sightseeing | Altitude: 3000 m | 75 Km | Drive: 2 hours.

  After breakfast, hike to the beautiful Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Choling monastery.
  
  Then drive to Gangtey. On the way, visit Wangdue Phodrang dzong built in the 17th century by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.
  
  Note: The upper part of the valley is called Gangtey and lower part is called Phobjikha.
  
  While in Gangtey, visit to:
  
  Gangtey monastery founded in 1613 by Gyaltse Pema Thinley, the grandson of Terton Pema Lingpa.
  Crane information centre.
  Explore Phobjikha valley, the roosting ground of the rare black-necked cranes in winter.
  Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

• Day 5 : Gangtey 鈥� Trongsa 鈥� Bumthang | Altitude: 2600 m | 185 Km | Drive: 5 hours.

  Morning 鈥� We drive to Bumthang. On the way, visit Trongsa dzong built in 1644 by Chogyal Minjur Tempa. The first two kings of Bhutan ruled the country from this dzong.
  
  After lunch, visit Ta dzong, an ancient watch tower. The chapel inside the Ta dzong is dedicated to Trongsa Penlop Jigme Namgyal.
  
  In the evening, drive further to Bumthang valley.
  
  Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

• Day 6 : Bumthang sightseeing

  Today is the highlight of our 10 days Bhutan itinerary.
  
  Morning sightseeing visits include:
  
  Kurjey lhakhang where you can see the body print of Guru Rimpoche on a rock. The famous annual Kurjey festival is here in summer.
  Jakar dzong built in 1667 which literally means 鈥淭he castle of white bird鈥�.
  Jambay lhakhang built in 659 AD by the king Srongtsen Gampo of Tibet on the same day as Kichu lhakhang in Paro.
  After lunch, visit to:
  
  Tamshing lhakhang or temple of the good message established in 1501 by Pema Lingpa.
  In the evening, we drive to Tang valley and visit:
  
  Mebar tsho which literally means, 鈥淭he burning lake鈥�. It was here that the Terton Pema Lingpa discovered the treasures hidden by Guru Rinpoche in the 14th century.
  Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

• Day 7 : Bumthang sightseeing | Highlight of 10 days Bhutan itinerary | Alt. 2600 m.

  Morning 鈥� We drive to the beautiful Ura valley.
  
  Explore the valley and visit to the Ura temple. The famous Ura Yakchoe festival is held here in the spring.
  After lunch, drive back to Bumthang. Visit Kencho Sum lhakhang and cheese factory.
  
  In the evening, free to stroll in the town for shopping and photography.
  
  Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

• Day 8 : Bumthang 鈥� Paro sightseeing | By Mountain Flight | 25 minutes | Alt. 2280 m.

  Morning 鈥� We drive to Badbalathang airport and fly to Paro.
  
  Afternoon 鈥� visit Ta dzong, an ancient watch tower built in 1656 which now houses the national museum of Bhutan.
  
  Then visit Rinpung dzong built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. The annual Paro festival is held here at the courtyard in the spring.
  
  In the evening, visit to a typical Bhutanese farm house.
  
  Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

• Day 9 : Paro 鈥� Hike to the Tiger鈥檚 nest monastery (Taktsang) | 7 Km | Hike: 2 hours.

  Morning 鈥� We drive to the base of the monastery and hike to the Paro Taktsang monastery (2 hour walk 鈥� one way).
  
  Afternoon 鈥� visit Drugyel dzong built in 1647 by the Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.
  
  Then visit Kyichu lhakhang built in 659 A.D by the Tibetan king, Songtsen Gampo.
  
  Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

  In the morning, drive to the Paro airport and farewell.
