The West Bali National Park is situated on the north western side of Bali. The park sprawls over 190 square kilometers (73 sq mi) strech and is known to cover approx 5% of island’s area.
Park’s Composition
The park comprises of mangroves, a savanna, coral islands, mixed-monsoon forests and montane. There are also remnants of 4 volcanic mountains that belong to Pleistocene era in the park and are located just in the center. The Gunung Patas has highest elevation, measuring up to 1,412 meters (4,633 ft).

ï‚· In the north, there is a 1,000-metre (3,300 ft) long beach and a reef. There are many islets too in this direction.
ï‚· In the west, there is a seaport, which is precisely located at Gilimanuk.

How to Reach
ï‚· The park can be easily reached via road from Gilimanuk and Singaraja.
ï‚· Ferries can also be opted from Ketapang, East Java to reach the park.
Flora & Fauna
ï‚· The park is home to 160 species of fauna such as Banteng, Barn Swallow, Black-naped Oriole, Black Racket-tailed Treepie, Crested Serpent-eagle, Crested Treeswift, Dollarbird, Hawksbill Turtle, Indian Muntjac, Java Sparrow, Javan Lutung, Large Flying Fox, Leopard Cat, Lesser Adjutant, Long-tailed Shrike, Milky Stork, Pacific Swallow, Red-rumped Swallow, Rusa Deer, Sacred Kingfisher, Savanna Nightjar, Stork-billed Kingfisher, Water Monitor, Wild Boar and Yellow-vented Bulbul.
ï‚· The park havens many endangered species of flora such as Pterospermum diversifolium, Antidesma bunius, Lagerstroemia speciosa, Steleochocarpus burahol, Santalum album, Aleurites moluccana, Sterculia foetida, Schleichera oleosa, Dipterocarpus hasseltii, Garcinia dulcis, Alstonia scholaris, Manilkara kauki, Dalbergia latifolia and Cassia fistula.
West Bali National Park houses a rich flora and fauna. In 2011 the park has to release forty Bali Myans form its Surabaya Zoo and twenty from Taman Safari Indonesia.
