This place also has a different name which is Prakriti Tirtha and even locals love to hop in the area quite often to spend their lovely weekends with their loved ones. This place was created by the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and adds to the glory of West Bengal.
This place is divided into three different parts. The three different parts are for recreational purposes and they are of different types such as theme gardens, the ecological park and open area for fun. There are also several fun activities for people of all ages, such as cycling, boating, speed boat rides, kayaking, zorbing, rowing activities, etc.
The authorities of the park have chalked out all the activities so that the visitors can enjoy them as per their choice and interest. The park also has conference halls and cottages that one can book for personal and public meetings.
Taking out time from the hectic schedule still, people come and visit this place to repent their stress and workload, and they find it peaceful and amazing to spend their time here.
Exact Location of New Town Eco Park Kolkata
The Eco-Tourism Park or Eco Park is located in Area II of New Town along the Arterial Major Road. It is a part of Biswa Bangla Sarani. This park is located precisely away from the Netaji International Airport and it is connected to EM Bypass and VIP Road. You can easily reach using public transport or private cars or cabs.
The Places of interest in the park
• The Artist Cottage and Adda Zone
The place was created overlooking the flower lake and keeping the people in mind who love to create art and be creative with their work. They can work here in peace and can design their choice of art. The rose garden is at the back of the artist's cottage, which adds a different beauty to the place and provides a dreamy ambiance.
The Adda Zone, one the other hand, is opposite to the artist cottage overlooking the musical fountain and the lake. As the name suggests, this place has several benches lined up for people to sit and have small talks or participate in various discussions and topics.
• The Urban Museum
The metropolitan museum of New Town Eco Park Kolkata is the place where the Durga puja decorative is placed. The site is conceptual and is made to show important themes of the Durga Puja pandals of Kolkata which encourages arts and also the thought of holding the essence and art and festival together forever.
• The Seven Wonders of the World
The park has recently come up with the new attraction, the Seven Wonders of the World. The Park has the Seven Wonders of the World spread all across which includes the Taj Mahal, Colosseum, the Great Wall of China, the Sphinx, the Christ of Redeemer, the pyramids of Egypt and the city of Petra.
• The Food Court
What’s life without food? The park has fantastic food courts that you get all across the park with delicious food that one can enjoy during their visit to the park. The stalls and shops serve you with pretty good food at an affordable price.
• The Children’s Park
As the name suggests, this place is mainly built for children of all age and their fun, entertainment, and learning.
Things to Know About the Park
The park has an entry fee of 30 rupees. There are several other nearby places that you can visit the lime science city, Mother Wax Museum, etc. On Monday the park is closed. From Tuesday to Saturday the site is open from 2:30 pm till 8:30 pm and on Sunday’s you can visit it from 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm
