1. Bodhgaya - This holy land is blessed to have seen and witnessed a prince with an unending quest in search of truth,settling down & light up the path of the world attaining supreme enlightenment.
This being the seat of origin of Buddhism is famous among tourist around the world ,temples/monasteries/parks/libraries for Buddhist manuscripts & scriptures & other local attractions are available in and around.
2. Rajgir / Rajgriha / Ratnagrih ( Seat of the King) - Rajgir as formerly known as Rajgrih has a pride to have seen the golden times of the Kingdom of Magadh being the capital,it's rise and fall with time.
It is sacred to the memory of the founders of both the religions: Jainism and Buddhism and associated with both the historical Mahavira and Buddha.
It was here that Gautama Buddha spent several months meditating, and preaching at Gridhra-kuta, ('Hill of the Vultures'). He also delivered some of his famous sermons and initiated king Bimbisara of Magadha and countless others to Buddhism. On one of the hills is the Saptparni cave where the First Buddhist Council was held under the leadership of Maha Kassapa.
Lord Mahavira, 24th Tirthankara spent fourteen years of his life at Rajgir and Nalanda, spending Chaturmas (i.e. 4 months of the rainy season) at a single place in Rajgir (Rajgruhi) and the rest in the places in the vicinity.
Rajgir is like a world out of this world with its scenic,pure & pristine atmosphere . Hills, hot-springs, lake with boating facility & a cable car to the World peace Pagoda on the top is added attraction for a traveler here.
3. Nalanda :
Nalanda was one among the oldest residential university of the world. World famous for it's courses dealing Buddhist philosophy, Mathematics, Literature, Arts and more.
Many Chinese and international travelers have scripted its prestigious past in their travelogues.
The remains and ruins of the university still exhibit its rich history.
4. Mahakala Cave - History says that Prince Siddhartha went into deep meditation for long before enlightenment ,leading him to the highest experience of hardship & a skeleton barely able to move.
In modern times there is a shrine of Hindu Goddess(Dhungeshwari/ Shringeshwari) with Devi Tara in the premises.
In the cave that's is said to mark the location of the Buddha in meditation houses a black stone polished statue with great details.(Now painted in Golden colour).Anything not mentioned in Inclusion.
