Package Overview

Sasangir :- Sasan-Gir or the Gir Forest National Park is located in the Indian state of Gujarat. Spread across an area of 1412 square km, this sanctuary was established in 1965 to protect the dwindling population of lions. Sasan Gir Forest is today the only place in the world outside Africa, where the lion can be seen in his natural habitat.
It is most popularly known for its population of Asiatic lions and considered as the safest protection areas for these Lions. Popular carnivores found in the place are Asiatic lions, Indian leopards, jungle cats, striped hyenas, golden jackals and many more. The park’s popular birds include vultures, crested serpent eagle, great horned owl and others. The forest also harbours a variety of smaller animals and birds. Other predators are the Panther and the Hyena. The Indian Deer, Sambar, Chital (spotted deer), Nilgai (blue bull), Chinkara and the Chowsingha (four horned antelope) are found here, along with the bear and the long tailed langur.
Another important attraction in the place is Kamleshwar Dam, which is situated in the centre of Sasan-Gir National Park. The Sasanagir national park commonly known as the Gir national park is the only abode left for the Asiatic lions and that’s what makes it a popular tourist spot.
There are many hotel options in Sasan-Gir for tourists. Travelers can choose from lodges, camps and resorts within the sanctuary to budget hotels located close to the wildlife sanctuary. This forest region of Gir was declared a ‘conservation area’ by the then Nawab of the ‘Princely State of Junagadh’ in early 1900 s itself. Gir. Tourists can enjoy a safari tour in this Interpretation Zone where all types of the habitats of Gir Forest are kept inside the chained fences fortified by double gate entry system. The best period to pay a visit to the Gir Forest National Park is mid October to mid June.

Dasada :- Dasada is located on the edge of little Rann of Kutch, which is an extension of the Rann of Kutch onto Saurashtra. Dasada is an ex-Ahmedabad getaway being just 90 kms away and a major bird watching destination. Dasada is known for bird watching and only place in India where wild ass can be found. There are several bird watching sites around the area. Lesser Flamingos are found here in winter in large numbers.
Besides bird watching tribal heritage of the area, craft villages and rural character is an attraction for guests looking for an authentic rural India experience. Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Pick Up From Rajkot Drive To Sasan Gir And Enjoy Evening Safari

  Early morning safari exploring Velavadar. Proceed to Sasan Gir (220 kms - 4 hours), abode of Asiatic Lions and considered excellent for bird watching. The park checklist has 250 birds and about 50 other species (including the endangered lesser florican and the saras crane) are recorded in the grasslands along the periphery of the sanctuary. Evening Safari in Gir. Overnight at Hotel.

  Morning Safari at Sasan Gir. Travel to Dasada (330 kms - 5.5 hrs). Dasada, part of Little Rann of Kutch is a bird watching destination at 90 kms from Ahmedabad. The Little Rann of Kutch Wildlife sanctuary spreads over 4950 sq km in area comprising a range habitats from saline desert plains, arid grasslands, rocky and thorn scrub to lakes and marshes. Overnight at Hotel.

  After breakfast "Explore Bird Watching around Dasada. Nawa Talao lake, the wetland near Patdi fort and many reservoirs of Surendranagar district offer good winter birding opportunities. Birds like rose-coloured starling and green pigeon are often seen at Dasada village. Overnight at Hotel.
