Sightseeing trip to the celebrated Mogul gardens-Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh. Nishat Bagh (Abode of pleasure) was built by Asif Khan, brother of Empress Noorjehan in 1632 AD. Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) was built by Jehangir for his wife Noor Jehan. Situated on the bank of Dal Lake,hai Gardens. followed by a visit to Cheshma Shahi Gardens, overlooked by picturesque Zabarwan Mountains. This afternoon, enjoy and visit the floating and vegetable gardens etc. Also experience the walnut woodcarving and papier-mache making demonstration. Overnight in Srinagar.
Today, a full day excursion to Sonamarg by car. The distance of about 84 km will be covered about 2.5 h. Sonamarg lies at the head of the Sindh valley. The drive through here presents a spectacular facet of thecountryside. Sonamarg is surrounded by mountains and pine forests. There are attractive walks and option of pony ride to the Thajiwas glacier. Drive back from Sonamarg and you will be transferred to Srinagar for dinner and overnight stay.
In the morning start for Gulmarg-the Meadow of Flowers, which is situated at an altitude of 2730 m above the sea level. The distance between Srinagar and Gulmarg is approximately 60 km and it takes two hours drive from Srinagar to reach Gulmarg. Gulmarg is one of India's premier hill resorts. Explore Gulmarg and spend the day by individual activities. Gulmarg is a place of exceptional beauty and has the world's highest green golf course and also turns into India's premier ski resort in winter. Gulmarg offers breathtaking views of majestic Nanga Parbat on a clear day. Pony riding is a popular activity in Gulmarg; you can ride to the upland meadow of Khilanmarg and back. The Gondola Cable Car offers rides to the upland meadow of Kongdori for viewing the Himalayan peaks in the summer and for downhill skiing in winter. Overnight in Srinagar.
After a leisurely breakfast and drive to Pahalgam or theValley of Shepherds via Srinagar. Drive through the eye-catching Saffron fields; visit Awantipura ruins, an 1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by King Awantiwareman. The total distance of about 140 km will be covered in about 4 hrs. After reaching Pahalgam, you will be transferred to the hotel. Time at leisure to soak in the panoramic sights all around, a glimpses of heaven on earth.
Brakfast at the hotel. Spend the day in Pahalgam and explore the place in leisure. Pahalgam is situated at the confluence of the Sheshnag and the Lidder streams. Set amidst soaring mountains, glistening glaciers, gushing silvery streams and dense pine and cedar forests, Pahalgam offers many options for walks, pony trekking, fishing and camping. Drive back to Srinagar from Pahalgam. Stay overnight in Srinagar.
Shankar Acharya, Jama Masjid, Shah Hamdan,Gurudwara Chati Padshai and Shopping Today you will visit the sacred temple of Shankaracharya occupies the top of the hill known as Takht-I-Sulaiman in the south-east of Srinagar. The site dates back to 250BC. The Saint Shankaracharya stayed at this place when he visited Kashmir ten centuries ago to revive Sanatan Dharma. The Jama Masjid at Nowhatta, in the heart of the old city, is the other important mosque in Srinagar at which thousands of people congregate for the Friday prayers. Of imposing proportions, the mosque is built around a courtyard and is supported by 370 wooden pillars. The hushed quiet of the mosque counterpoints the bustle of the old bazaars surrounding it. Originally built by Sultan Sikandar in 1400 AD, and enlarged by his son, Zain-ul- Abidin, it is a typical example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. Destroyed thrice by fire and rebuilt each time, the mosque, as it now stands, was repaired during the reign of Maharaja Pratap Singh. Khanqah of Shah Hamadan: Situated on the banks of the river Jhelum, between the third and fourth bridge, it is the first mosque ever built in Srinagar. The original one was built in 1395. Chhatti Padshahi Gurudwara: The sixth Sikh guru travelled through Kashmir, stopping to preach occasionally. A gurudwara has been built at the exact site of each of these halts. The most important one among these is Chhatti Padshahi gurudwara, situated near the Kathi Darwaza, in Rainawari, Srinagar, which is held in great reverence by devotees of all faiths.
After having breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport to catch a flight for Departure.
