Package Overview

Things to carry:
Gloves, Thermals, Rain coat / jackets which can withstand up to -5 degree centigrade. Day time temperature may be around 15-20 degree so a small jacket should be good. Goggles / Cooling glass. Muffler / cap to cover head and ears. Good hiking shoes with ankle protection is recommended. Hiking poles, High calorie food, Water bottle, Water proof trouser / rain coat, Gatorade / Energy drink, Glacier water is available everywhere. So no need to carry lot of water. Torch light or lamp light is recommended as there are no electricity through the route. Mobile network doesn’t work. So please switch of your phone to conserve battery. A good camera to take lots of photos and please keep at least 3-4 spare batteries. A good trekking bag with water proof cover is recommended. Carry weight not more than 5-7kg else it is difficult to trek. (Do not carry more number of clothes as you cannot take bath anywhere using freezing cold water). However hands free sanitizer can help, since water is freezing cold.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Delhi to Haridwar

  Meet & greet at Delhi railway station to board train to Haridwar at 14.00 hrs. Arrive Haridwar railway station & stay at hotel.
• Day 2 : Haridwar – Govindghat

  Drive from Haridwar to Govindghat (10 Hrs)
  Early morning proceed at 5 am and we will start our scenic drive to Govindghat via Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Joshimath. Govindghat is a starting point of valley of flowers trek 2016. Enroute wi will be crossing Devprayag, which is a holy city and confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers, after this the rivers become the holy Ganges. We Arrive at Govindghat by the evening and check into a hotel. Dinner & overnight stay. Get a good night’s sleep as tomorrow our Valley Of Flowers trek starts. We will also try and reach Govindghat and stay in Hotel
  Govindghat to start the valley of flowers trek next morning.

• Day 3 : Govindghat – Ghangaria

  Trek from Govindghat to Ghangaria
  The Valley of flower and Hemkund Sahib Trek begins at Govindghat, after crossing the swinging bridge over Alaknanda River. The zigzag trekking trail straightens through an ascending valley full of apricot trees, terraced fields and vegetation. The trail leads into the beautiful Bhyundar valley alongside the Laxman Ganga River. During the trek you will cross two small beautiful villages Pulna and Bhyundar. The entire 14 Kms trek from Govindghat to Ghangaria is full of natural splendors including cascading waterfalls and natural water springs. Small tea shops and restaurants run across the trekking route where you can enjoy buttery Aloo paranthas and hot tea. After crossing Laxman Ganga the trek on right bank continues through the dense forest but becomes little steep. Trek for another 1 hour and you will reach Ghangaria, check into hotel.

• Day 4 : Ghangaria – Valley of flowers

  Trek to Valley of Flowers
  Today after an early breakfast we start our trek towards the Valley Of Flowers (3858 m) from Ghangaria. After a 3 Kms trek crossing the bridge and coming to left bank you will reach first small stream which marks the start of Valley of flowers which is an enchanting sight with an impressive array of rare alpine wildflowers like blue poppy, Cobra Lily, Geranium, Marsh etc.. The valley is 14 Kms long, 2 Kms wide, and is divided by the Pushpawati stream, into which several tiny streams and waterfalls merge. Trek up to the Joan Margaret Legge and return back at the big rock near the first stream we will have lunch and return to Ghangaria. After absorbing the beauty of the Valley Of Flowers we trek back to Ghangaria. Dinner & overnight stay at the camp/hotel.

• Day 5 : Ghangaria – Hemkund Sahib

  Trek to Hemkund Sahib
  Today get ready for an arduous Hemkund Sahib Trek which a 6 Kms steep trek which takes around 6 hours. The Hemkund Sahib trek is full of enchanting views of the Himalayas and on the way you will be crossing numerous waterfalls and streams. When you are trekking to Hemkund Sahib please note that you cannot stay at Hemkund Sahib after 2 PM because weather changes very rapidly here.
  Hemkund Sahib perched at an elevation of 4,329 mts above sea level, Hemkund Sahib is the highest Gurudwara of Sikh community.

• Day 6 : (Valley of flowers trek) – Govindghat

  We trek back to Govindghat via the same route. Upon arrival at Govindghat proceed to Badrinath. On arrival check into a hotel and rest.
• Day 7 : Badrinath – Rudraprayag

  Early morning we drive back Rishikesh/Haridwar. Lunch Enroute. Arrive Rishikesh/Haridwar by evening. Trek ends with a mosaic of colorful memories.
• Day 8 : Rudraprayag - Haridwar

  Early morning we drive back Rishikesh/Haridwar. Lunch enroute. Arrive Rishikesh/Haridwar by evening. Trek ends with a mosaic of colorful memories.
• Day 9 : Haridwar - Delhi

  Early morning we drive back Rishikesh/Haridwar. Lunch enroute. Arrive Rishikesh/Haridwar by evening. Trek ends with a mosaic of colorful memories.
