Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Chennai

  On arrival at Chennai, the capital metropolis of Tamilnadu, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. [If you arrive before 1300 Hrs you can have do the Chennai city tour today covering Marina Beach, St George Fort, Museum etc.,]. Overnight at Chennai.

• Day 2 : Chennai-Kanchipuram-Mahabalipuram

  After breakfast visit Kapalaeaswara temple at Mylapore and drive onward to Kanchipuram, one of the seven holiest cities in India, which is rightly called as city of thousand temples. The sightseeing tour takes you to important temples like Kamatchi Amman temple, Kailasanathar temple and Ekambareshwar temple (Where Lord Shiva is worshipped as Land), the temples which are storehouse of ancient architecture and sculptures. Kanchipuram is equally famous for its silk sarees and you have some time check on the same before driving to Mahabalipuram. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Mahabalipuram

• Day 3 : Mahabalipuram-Pondicherry

  After breakfast Mahabalipuram sightseeing showcases the architectural wonders of this town which was once a thriving port during the Pallava dynasty rule. The tour of this UNESCO site takes you to important monuments like Pancha Pandava Rathas, Arjuna's Penance, Cave temples and sea shore temple etc..   After breakfast the sightseeing tour takes you to Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Manakula Vinayagar temple, Park Monument, Notre Dame Church, Sacred Heart church, Dupleix Statue etc., Afternoon go on a short excursion to Auroville-An international township devoted to the experiment in human unity. Evening stroll around the beach promenade and can consider a local dinner. Overnight in Pondicherry

• Day 5 : Pondicherry - Chidambaram- Gangaikonda Cholapuram- Darasuram- Tanjore

  After early breakfast drive to Chidambaram where Lord Shiva is worshipped as sky. For over thousand years, Chidambaram temple is inseparable from worship, beauty and performing arts of Tamilnadu. Later drive to Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple which is famous for its architectural and sculptural genius. For example the shadow of the Kalasam at top never falls on the ground at any time of the day, sunlight which falls on the nadhi gets reflected onto Linga thus keeping temple bright even when lights are not there. Later we continue our journey to Darasuram Airavatheshwara Temple which is the store house of ancient art and scluptures. Later we retire for the day at Tanjore. Overnight at Tanjore

• Day 6 : Tanjore - Trichy- Madurai

  After a leisurely breakfast we visit Tanjore Brahadeswara temple (commonly called as Big Temple) which is an outstanding architectural marvel where you can wonder at the engineering skills that existed thousands of years back. Later we visit art gallery and museum before driving down to Trichirapalli, an ancient city, where we visit ancient Sri Rangam temple and Rock fort temple before heading to Madurai, the temple city with known history of over 2500 Years for overnight stay. • Day 7 : Madurai

  After leisurely breakfast the sightseeing tour takes you to places like Thiru Malai Nayak Palace, Gandhi Memorial Museum, St Mary's Cathedral, the market area etc., Evening we visit Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple, which is world famous for its architectural and spiritual magnificence. Enjoy the beauty of various gopurams which has thousands of stone figures of animals, gods and demons, halls with various sculptures and various shrines dedicated to different deities. Later you can witness the temple ceremony. May be late in the evening you can go out for dinner and check-out local delicacies. Overnight in Madurai
