Package Overview

Magnificent Hindu temples, shrines adorned with rich wood carvings, Buddhist stupas with their white cupolas and the all-seeing eyes of Buddha as well as colorful markets and busy bazaars. After this cultural potpourri, you will fly to Tibet. The first days of sightseeing will acquaint you with the people and their culture and allow time for your acclimatization. Near Tsetang (3400m) you will visit a castle from the first kings of Tibet and have a good view across the fertile Yarlung valley.On the way to Lhasa we will visit the oldest monastery of Tibet, Samye.

We have two days sightseeing in Lhasa (3600m), the spiritual and secular center of Tibet. You will see the Potala palace, perched high above the city, the holiest temple Tibet's, the Jokhang, and the Gelugpa monastery of Drepung. Across the vast Tibetan plateau we drive back to Nepal and get a good glimpse of the Himalayas and the Trans Himalaya. The drive leads across passes of more than 5000m with dazzling views of the snow-covered peaks and fluttering prayer flags, we pass the turquoise-colored Lake Yamdrok and Tibetan houses with their flat roofs. In Shigatse and Gyantse e visit such important monasteries as Tashilunpo and the Kumbum, rich in sculptures and murals.

The last leg of the trip along the Arniko Highway brings us to Dhulikhel, known for it good views on the central Himalayas. A hike in its vicinity concludes our mountain adventure. With lots of impressions gathered on this relatively short trip (Nepal and Tibet in just 18 days!) we fly home.

Visa / Tibet Travel Permit Conditions:
Individual Travelers, who are willing to join our Fixed Departure Groups, are recommended to bring visa from their own country, as it will be much easier.

As per the rules of the Chinese Embassy, we need passport details (Passport Photocopy) in advance i.e. Minimum 15 Days prior to the commencement of tour to obtain Tibet Travel Permit.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Kathmandu to Zhangmu

  Within these three days, the essential documentation and visa work will be completed for Tibet visit. You check out of the hotel early in the morning and leave straight for Kodari which is the Nepal China Border. After clearing all the immigration formalities, you will cross the friendship bridge into the city of Zhangmu. Our representative will meet you at the Tibet side from where you will be driven further to Zhangamu and transferred to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
• Day 2 : Zhangmu To New Tingri

  After breakfast, we head straight for Xeger. En route we will cross Nyalam Pass and Lulung Pass. The journey is bit lengthy and takes around 8 hrs continuous driving to reach there but this 250 km stretch will not at all be boring or tiring. The stretch is one of the most scenic in entire Tibet. Get the best views of Himalayas and even Mt. Everest that will leave you spell bound. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel.
• Day 3 : New Tingri To Shigatse

  This day too is set for long drive, you will be taken in a coach to Shigatse which is around 244 km away. It will take around 8 hrs to cover the entire distance. On arrival, check into the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel
• Day 4 : Shigatse To Gyantse

  Early Morning, after breakfast, visit the famous Tashilhunpo Monastery and the free market at Shigatse. After that drive towards Gyantse which is around 90 km away. Estimated time for the journey is around 2 hrs. You will reach Gyantse by afternoon and directly check in at the hotel. There explore the Palkhor Monastery and Kumbum Stupa. Overnight stay at the hotel.
• Day 5 : Gyantse To Lhasa

  Wake up to the rising sun and get ready for another day of sight full journey to the Capital City of Lhasa. Passing through Karo Pass, Kamba Pass and Yamdruk Lake, we reach Lhasa after a journey of 8 hrs and covering an area of 260 km. Transfer to the hotel for the overnight stay.
• Day 6 : In Lhasa

  After the best Tibetan cuisine breakfast, brace yourself up for witnessing few of the most beautiful architectural wonders in entire Tibet. Visit the famous Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and the busy Barkhor street. Back to the hotel for a refreshing night sleep.
• Day 7 : In Lhasa

  The day is again set aside for sightseeing in the wonderful Lhasa City. Explore the fascinating sites of Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery and Norbulingka. If time remains, you can always go out looking for unique Tibetan items like Thangka Paintings and famous Tibetan knife. Return back to hotel for the overnight stay.
• Day 8 : Lhasa - Kathmandu

  Early morning transfer to airport for fly to Kathmandu. The flight leaves at 0925 hrs local time and reaches Kathmandu at 1025 hrs Kathmandu time. Transfer to the hotel for the overnight stay. Half day is still remaining for you to roam around Kathmandu hunting for special memorabilia to take back home
