Package Overview

Mayapur is located on the banks of the Ganges river, at the point of its confluence with the Jalangi, near Navadvip, West Bengal, India, 130 km north of Kolkata (Calcutta). The headquarters of ISKCON are situated in Mayapur and it is considered a holy place by a number of other traditions within Hinduism, but is of special significance to followers of Gaudiya Vaishnavism as the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, regarded as a special incarnation of Krishna in the mood of Radha. It is visited by over a million pilgrims annually.

Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta, is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. Kolkata was the commercial capital of East India, located on the east bank of the Hooghly River. The city of Kolkata has 4.5 million residents, and the metropolitan area, including suburbs, has a population of approximately 15.7 million, making it the third most populous metropolitan area in India and the 13th most populous urban area in the world. The city is also classified as the eighth largest urban agglomeration in the world.

Kolkata served as the capital of India during the British Raj until 1911 when due to geographical disadvantages and growing nationalism in Bengal the capital was shifted to New Delhi. The city is noted for its vibrant political culture, ranging from the Indian struggle for independence to contemporary politics. Once the center of modern education, science, culture, and politics in India, Kolkata witnessed economic stagnation in the years following India's independence in 1947. However, since the year 2000, an economic rejuvenation has led to an acceleration in the city's growth. Like other metropolitan cities of India, Kolkata continues to struggle with urbanization problems like pollution and traffic congestion. Despite its problems, Kolkata remains the dominant urban area of eastern India and a major educational and cultural hub.Air Fare/Train fare.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Kolkata Airport / Rly. Station - City Hotel

  Meet & Greet on arrival at Airport / Railway Station & transfer to hotel. Check-in to hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay will be at Kolkata.
• Day 2 : Kolkata - Mayapur (140 kms)

  After early breakfast depart for Mayapur. Once you reach Mayapur Ghat then get on a boat to cross over the Ganga to reach *Hular Ghat* at Mayapur. Than a rikshaw to ISKCON’s Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir. Check into the Aashram. After lunch Guided Campus Tour. Evening Arti and leisure at your own to feel the peace of nature and the surrounding which cannot be expressed in words. Overnight at the Ashram.
• Day 3 : Mayapur Sightseeing

  After breakfast, depart for Ganga Boat Ride and Ganga Puja. Than tour to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu Janmastan, Rajapur Sri Jagannath Mandir, Tour to Sri Tour to Koladvipa. ( by Boat) visit Dhamesvara Mahaprabhu temple, Tour to Godrumadwip. Overnight at the Ashram.
• Day 4 : Mayapur - Kolkata

  After breakfast back to *Hular Ghat* at Mayapur for onward journey to Kolkata. Evening reach Kolkata. Overnight stay will be at Kokata.
• Day 5 : Kolkata half day city tour - Airport / Rly. Station

  After breakfast check out from hotel with bag & baggage and start for half day sightseeing. After that transfer to the Airport / Rly. Station for your onwards journey.
