Package Overview

The unexplored beauty of north east India (Tawang) is becoming a famous tourist attraction. The Sela Pass rises steeply and is covered with snow for most of the year. Jang waterfall, Jaswantgarh war memorial, Tawang Monetary, & Ani Gompa is a big tourist attraction.

Visitors to Tawang district require a special Inner Line Permit ( Indian Citizens only) from the government which are easily available with us or you can apply yourselves in Kolkata, Guwahati, Tezpur, and New Delhi. For foreign country passport holders PAP (Protected Area Permit) is required which is also available with us or you can obtain the Protected Area Permit from, All Indian Missions abroad, All Foreigners Regional Registration Officers (FRRO) at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chief Immigration Officer, Chennai, 魅影直播 Ministry, Govt. of India and 魅影直播 Commissioner, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar.

Most of the travel from the plains is on a steep hill road journey, crossing Sela Pass at 4,176 metres (13,701 ft). Tourists can travel to Tawang from Tezpur, Assam by road. Tezpur has direct flights from Kolkata. Guwahati, Assam, is 16 hours by road. In June 2008, a daily helicopter service from Guwahati was started by the Arunachal Pradesh government (But you have to skip the en route sightseeing of Bomdila& Dirang).

It is an arduous journey: most of the road is loose tarmac and gravel giving way to mud in many places. However, it is worth it with a scenic journey of nearly 12 hours, crossing Bomdila Pass 2,438 metres (8,000 feet), peaking at Sela Pass 4,176 metres (13,700 feet), Jaswant Garh and, finally, Tawang.

BEST TIME TO VISIT: March 鈥� June & September 鈥� December.

CLIMATE: The warmest month of the year is July, with an average temperature of 17.0 掳C. January has the lowest average temperature of the year. It is 2.0 掳C.

REQUIREMENT: Woollens and dry fruits or packed food.

RESTRICTIONS: PAP (Protected Area Permit) holders are strictly prohibited to visit Bumla Pass ( The Indo - China Border). However, ILP (Inner Line Permit) holders can visit Bumla Pass with permit ( which will be managed by us).

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : GUWAHATI鈥� BOMDILA

  Morning proceed for drive to Bomdila. visit tippi orchid center ( Approx. 310 km and 7 - 8 hours drive). Arrive / checkin hotel and over night stay.

• Day 2 : BOMDILA 鈥� TAWANG

  After breakfast drive to Tawang doing on the way sightseeing which covers Se La Pass (The Sela Pass more appropriately called Se La, as La means Pass is a high-altitude mountain pass located on the border between the Tawang and West Kameng Districts of Arunachal Pradesh state in India. It has an elevation of 4170 m or13,700 ft), Jaswant Garh war memorial, Nag Mandir, Horse Spring & Dirang Dzong (Approx. 200 km and 6-7 hours drive). Check in at Hotel. Evening at Leisure. Over night at Tawang.

• Day 3 : TAWANG SIGHTSEEING

  After breakfast indulge yourselves with the sightseeing of the serene beauty called 鈥漈AWANG". Today you'll be covering Tawang Monastery, Handicrafts Hand loom (Saturday Closed), War Memorial. Evening enjoy light and sound show for the Martyrs (Who died in Indo 鈥� China war in 1962) in Tawang war memorial. Over night at Tawang.

• Day 4 : BUMLA PASS SIGHTSEEING ( NOT APPLICABLE FOR PAP HOLDERS)

  Today you'll be visiting Bumla pass ( The Indo 鈥� China border),Madhuri / Songetsar lake & PTSO (Pangateng Tso Lake) by an Arunachal registration Car ( As per the Arunachal government rule, only Arunachal car can go to Madhuri & PTSO lake). Over night at Tawang.

• Day 5 : TAWANG - DIRANG

  After breakfast drive back to Dirang ( approx 140 km and 4 - 5 hours drive). Arrivre checkin hotel . Dirang local sight seeing and over night stay .

• Day 6 : DIRANG - KAZIRANGA

  After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Kaziranga (approx 250 km and 6 -7 hours drive). Arrive and jeep safari in Kaziranga national park . Later checkin hotel and over night stay .

• Day 7 : KAZIRANGA- GUWAHATI

  After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Guwahati airport or railway station for back journey to your home town .
