Ladakh Travel Information and Guide for Leh Ladakh Tour
Ladakh, the land of many passes, snow clad mountains and arid land is among the highest of the world's inhabited plateaus. It lies at altitudes ranging from about 2,750 meters at Kargil to 7,672 meters at Saser Kangri in the Karakoram. The summer temperatures exceed up to 35 掳 C, while in winter they may drop to -40 掳 C in some high altitude areas. Ladakh has been the described as 'Moon Land', 'Magic Land', and 'Mysterious Land' for its unique landscape and exquisite culture.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Srinagar

  You will be met by our representative at the Srinagar airport. He will assist and transfer you to the deluxe houseboat. Afternoon sightseeing of the Mughal Gardens, visiting Nishat Bagh built by Asaf Khan, the brother -in- law of Jehangir in 1632 AD, and Shalimar Bagh built by Jehangir for his wife empress Nur Jahan. All the gardens are situated on the banks of the Dal Lake with the Zabarwan hills in the background. Dinner and overnight in deluxe houseboat.

• Day 2 : Srinagar - Gulmarg - Srinagar

  Morning leave for Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) 2730 mts. above the sea level. The distance of 60 kms will be covered in about 2 hours. Gulmarg has one of the best ski slopes in the world and highest golf course with 18 holes. If weather permits one can also have the view of Nanga Parbat, the naked mountain that is over 26,000 feets and dominates the entire region, also enjoy cable car (Gondola) for mountain ride upto khilangmarg. In the evening drive back to Srinagar. Overnight in deluxe houseboat.
• Day 3 : Srinagar - Kargil (204 kms):

  After breakfast leave for Kargil, by visiting Sonamarg (Known as Meadow of Gold), Drass Village (2 coldest inhabitated place in the World), Enroute have a magnificent view of Kargil war Famous Peaks (Tiger, Tololing), reach Kargil by evening. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
• Day 4 : Kargil - Leh

  Early breakfast drive to Leh on arrival at leh. Check in hotel. Rest of the day will be spent in complete rest to acclimatize you in this high altitude region. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
• Day 5 : Sightseeing of Monestries (104 kms):

  After breakfast drive to visit the Shey Palace, Thiksey, Hemis monasteries. These monasteries are were in between the period of 15th and 17th centuries, the monasteries are a living example of the Buddhist teachings .An interesting collection of murals, frescoes and statues can be seen inside the main temples. After visiting the monasteries we will drive to Stok Palace Museum. The Museum showcases the worthy royal artefacts and paraphernalia which include royal crowns, precious heirlooms, copper coins, prayer instruments and materials, precious stones and jewellers and also very old 16th century Thangkas, the Thangkas represents the life and teachings of Buddha. Later return to Leh. Overnight in hotel.
• Day 6 : Leh - Khardungla - Leh(78 kms):

  Drive for Khardongla Pass, which is the World's highest motorable road ranging at 18380 feet. Return to Leh. Afternoon will be at leisure, free for independent activities. Overnight in hotel.
• Day 7 : Leh Pangong - Leh (320 kms)

  After early breakfast leave for Pangong Lake (14,500 ft), through Changla Pass 17,350 ft. (third highest motorable road in the world) .The drive takes about 3-4 hours to reach. The lake is situated on the borders of India and Tibet. The lake is around 120 kms long and 50 kms in width. The lake is home to a large number of migratory and resident birds. Packed or hot lunch will be served. Enjoy the beauty of the lake on the banks of Pangong while appreciating the changing colors and fascinating high altitude of the Lake. Drive back to Leh by the same route. Overnight stay in the hotel.

• Day 8 : Departure

  Early morning at 06:00 hrs you will be transfer to airport to board flight back to Delhi.
