Package Overview

Build Your Own Safari with participating Five Rivers camps and lodges. A minimum of three nights at a single property, or four nights each at two or more properties is required. Once you have chosen your accommodation, we add your transfers by road or air to create a complete safari.

Five Rivers is a group of affordable safari camps, covering all major wildlife locations that occur around the five major rivers in Botswana. Not only do each of the 5 Rivers partners have a reputation for service excellence and attention, but own and operate properties which, in combination, are guaranteed to offer the very best safari experience within the region.

The 5 Rivers Safari runs from 15th November to 31st of March each year, a period known as the ‘green’ season. Although this is traditionally seen as the ‘low’ season, it is a very special time of the year to visit southern Africa.

The summer rains are a time of plenty in Africa; mammals are fat and healthy and for many species, it is a time to bring their young into the world. The bush is an emerald green, dotted with an abundance of flowers and migrant bird species arrive in their thousands. For the experienced African traveler and specialist photographer, this is the time to visit southern Africa.

The 5 Rivers Safari offers an opportunity to experience the following unique camps and spectacular safari destinations, all at one common rated nightly price:

NXAI PAN: Eight luxury suites in the spectacular Nxai Pan National Park at it’s best during the 5 rivers season. Activities on offer: Game drives, day trips to Baines Baobabs, bushman interaction, nature walks.

TAU PAN: Eight luxury suites in the stunning Central Kalahari Game Reserve also at it’s peak during this sea-
son. Activities: Bushman interaction, game drives, nature walks and day trips further afield.

KWARA: Eight tents a private concession in the Okavango Delta world’s largest inland Delta wildlife and water paradise. Activities: Game drives, night drives, boat cruises and mokoro trips.

POM POM: Nine luxury safari tents in the Southern area of the Delta. Land and water activities. Activities: Game drives, mokoro canoe and boat cruises.

LEBALA: Eight luxury tents in the private Kwando/Linyanti concession big game country with consistent wild dogs and predator sightings. Activities: Game drives, night drives and walking

LAGOON: Eight luxury tents in the private Kwando/Linyanti concession big game country with consistent wild dogs and predator sightings. Activities: Game drives, night drives, boat cruises and walking.

STANLEYS SAFARI LODGE (Livingstone): 10 private cottages on the Livingstone side of the Falls bordering the

Mosi - Oa - Tunya National Park. A two night stay includes a Falls visit (park fees included) and sunset cruise (park fees included) and a village tour. Rate applicable for open cottages only. Includes transfers to/from Livingstone airport

THE ELEPHANT CAMP (Victoria Falls): 12 luxury tents located in a private reserve just 6 miles from Victoria Falls town. A two night stay includes airport transfers, a Falls visit (park fees included), a sunset cruise (park fee’s included) and a cheetah interaction, sun-downers at Batoka Gorge, lunch at the Lookout cafe including drinks.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Victoria Falls

  On arrival you will be met and transferred to your accommodation for the following 2 nights, Elephant Camp. Situated on a private concession within and bounded by the Masuwe River and the Zambezi gorges, The Elephant Camp has breathtaking views of the Victoria Falls’ spray, and the spectacular gorges which separate Zimbabwe and Zambia. The Elephant Camp is a luxurious and intimate lodge under canvas within easy reach of Victoria Falls and all its attractions and activities.

• Day 2 : Victoria Falls

  Activities at Elephant Camp, ranging from a Falls tour to a village visit to interaction with Sylvester, the resident cheetah.

• Day 3 : Linyanti

  You will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Linyanti, and your accommodation for the following 2 nights, Lebala. Lebala means ‘wide open spaces’ in Setswana and the scenery is dominated by vast plains with scattered palms and tree islands backed by wooded savannahs. This wild expanse contrasts with the casual understated elegance and luxury of the camp itself. Your first game drive will be this afternoon.

  Sunrise and sunset game drives in the Linyanti region.

• Day 5 : Okavango Delta

  You will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Okavango Delta, and your accommodation for the following 2 nights, Pom Pom Camp. Pom Pom Camp lies at the heart of the Okavango Delta at the head waters of the Xudum river system. On the western boundary of the renowned Moremi Game Reserve Pom Pom offers a superb Okavango Delta experience.

• Day 6 : Okavango Delta

  Sunrise and sunset game drives, and dug out canoe excursions in the Okavango Delta region.

  You may choose to add a couple of nights in the Pans or Kalahari Regions, or you may depart. Either way, you will have had a rewarding experience in this magical area, seen a lot of wildlife, and enjoyed time in your bush camps.
