In the evening, immerse yourself in the intense tropical heat and colors of one of AsiaĀ“s most exciting cities. Begin your night-out in Singapore at the bayfront. Learn the stories behind the iconic Marina Bay Sands buildings and understand the larger context of SingaporeĀ“s land reclamation projects, urban development plans, and its ever changing skyline. While you stroll along the elegant waterfront your private guide explains on the futuristic buildings, such as the spiral Helix Bridge, the lotus-shaped ArtsScience Museum, the floating performance stage and the famed Formula 1 track. If you fancy a birdĀ“s eye view, visit the SkyPark and watch from above as the solar-powered supertrees light up the Gardens by the Bay in a stunning night performance.
Next, enjoy a drink in style at a chic bar on top of the National Gallery with spectacular views over the most historic part of the city. As the Singapore story goes on, with a glass of craft cocktail in hand, learn about the civic district and understand SingaporeĀ“s miraculous growth. This speed of progress, you will admit, goes very naturally with the skyline and views ahead of you.
Board a bumboat for a nostalgic ride on the rustic Singapore River and venture into a bygone era of shop-houses, traders and clans along the quays. Optionally, conclude this evening by tasting SingaporeĀ“s famed chili crab. Crack the code of crab-ology through a guided dining experience as you are led into the secrets of an exotic culinary culture.
Day 2 : Singapore
After a leisurely breakfast in your hotel, start the day as the great travelers of a past romantic age once did, enjoying SingaporeĀ“s morning skyline from the sea. Take a walk in the rooftop garden of the Marina Barrage, learning about island nationĀ“s parks and how those connect to the psyche of the nation.
Enjoy a private tour of the National Orchid Garden, a stunning visual spectacle with over 1000 species and 2000 hybrids. Have a refreshing break and try HaliaĀ“s signature infusion drink of dried ginger with honey before continuing on a heritage walk in the Botanical Garden. Led by an expert nature guide discover gigantic trees, hidden trails, and stories of SingaporeĀ“s 19th century history.
In the afternoon, resume your tour and gain a unique insight into SingaporeĀ“s urban vision for the future at the City Gallery. Next, visit a type of home where 85% of Singaporeans live, the Housing Development Board apartment. Through an exclusive arrangement, have the opportunity to meet with local families and gain insight into local life. Try a home-made dessert, such as chendol, or learn why cats are not allowed to be kept as pets. Conclude your visit at a wet market and a hawker centre, all within a typical neighbourhood estate. It doesnĀ“t get more real than this.
Day 3 : Departure
This morning is for your own exploration of the city. Stroll along the enigmatic shopping avenue of Orchard Road, visit one of SingaporeĀ“s excellent galleries such as the Asian Civilizations Museum, or have some fun at Sentosa Island. You can also chose to wander around the colorful markets of Chinatown, Little India and Arab Street.
Alternatively, join us for an optional, handcrafted private tour to discover SingaporeĀ“s disappearing trades. Visit a coffee roasting factory, a traditional bakery, and meet the masters of paper house-making to learn about how the Chinese pay respects to their ancestors by burning paper objects an offering to the afterlife.
