Package Overview

At a distance of 78 km from Kullu, 84 km from Mandi, 25 km from Banjar and 10 km from Shoja, Serolsar Lake is a beautiful lake situated at a distance of around 5 km from the Jalori pass. This lake can be reached by a trek from Shoja or Jalori Pass.

Serolsar Lake is located at an altitude of 3199 m. It is surrounded by thick vegetation of alpine forests. There is a myth that even if a small leaf falls into the Lake the birds around takes them out of the lake and keeps the water crystal clear. The water of the lake is believed to have medicinal properties.

The Lake has a narrow walking track lined up with thick tall trees on the outer side. On one side of the Lake is a small temple of Buddha Nagini. The devotees worship and offer ghee to the deity. It is said that the lake is very deep and that Budhi Nagin herself lived in a golden palace at the bottom of the lake

. The trek from Jalori Pass to Serolsar Lake is a 5 km one way and takes about 2 hrs. The trek starts from just below the temple atop Jalori pass.

In winter, Serolsar experience snowfall up to 5-8 ft. The place is best to visit during summers. People visiting this place are advised to come with their own food and necessary woolen clothing. Now, small rest houses have also been built to provide accommodation to the visitors. This place can be visited as a one day trip from Kullu if started early in the morning

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Shimla to Narkanda 65 kms / 3 hrs.

  Today morning after breakfast we will drive you on the Indian Tibet Border road to Narkanda, via Fagu, Theog Matiana. Enroute we will stop at various places and at Fagu and at Matiana, where there are chances to see the Himalayan Griffon Vultures. We will arrive at Narkanda to stay in a camp for 01 night at hatu peek. After lunch we will take you for 2-3 hrs. of walking in the hatu peek forest where there are enough changes to spot various birds and pheasants. In the evening we will return back to the camp at hatu peek.

• Day 2 : Narkanda to Kanag, over Jalori Pass 145 kms / 6 hrs

  Today early morning around 07; 00 A.M we will take you for a birding walk of 2 hrs. and there are again many chances to spot various Himalayan birds. Later after breakfast around 10:00A.M we will drive you to Shoja over Jalori Pass. Today we will drive you through various small villages and there are many chances to stop and view various birds. We will reach Kanag by late afternoon. Today we will stay in the home stay with the traditional himachalifamily and in the evening we will walk in the village and see the people and their culture and see people life in the Himalayan Mountains and then we will back to the home stay.

• Day 3 : Kanag to Serolsar Lake 3 Hrtreak

  Today we will start trek in the early in morning from your home stay to serolasr lake we will reach at lake by afternoon and then we will set up our camp and then have some lunch take your time at the camp and in the evening we will go to the walking in the forest while walking in the forest there are again many chances to spot various Himalayan birds later we will do born fire at the camp and today we will cook some dinner in the camp fire and today we will see very beautiful stars and moon in the sky .

• Day 4 : Serolsar Lake to Shoja Trek 3hrs Trek and Drive to Shimla 160 Kms / 7 Hrs

  Today early morning after some tea and cookies we will take you for a birding walk of 2 hrs. And there are again many chances to spot various Himalayan birds. Later after breakfast around 10:00A.M. We will start downwards trek to shoja and we will reach at the shoja by afternoon we can take lunch at the shoja and then we will drive you to the Shimla
