Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Palangkaraya | Cruise Activities: Arrival in Palangkaraya - Begin Cruise - Visit Local Villages

  On the first day of our wonderful tour, guests will be met by a guide at the airport who will transfer them to the harbor in Palangkaraya to meet the rest of the group. From there, we will board our cruise boat and set out on a journey along the Kahayan River. We will pass through floating villages, beautiful scenery, peat forests, and the orangutan pre-release islands. While at the orangutan pre-release islands, we will opt for a smaller boat to take us closer to the islands so we can catch a glimpse of these beautiful creatures. We will also visit several local villages, where guests will have a chance to experience and learn about some of the daily customs and traditions of the people in the surrounding areas.

• Day 2 : Cruise | Palangkaraya Activities: Visit Local Villages – Experience Local Wildlife - Travel Back

  This morning, guests will arise to the sounds of the jungle waking up around them. Enjoy a cup of fresh coffee on the deck as you watch the world going by around you. Today we will visit more small islands to experience the local wildlife and plant life as well as visiting several more villages before heading back to the Palangkaraya Harbor to dock for the evening.

• Day 3 : Palangkaraya | Cruise | Tumbang Malahoi Longhouse Activities: Travel to Longhouse - Explore Local

  On the third morning, guests will enjoy a delicious breakfast onboard as the boat continues along the river to a local longhouse located a short drive from the river. Along the way, we will stop at a local market to buy some gifts for the family that we will be staying with, pick up some trinkets for yourself while you’re at it! After docking, guests will travel by car through the plantations and the jungle before arriving at the longhouse, Tumbang Malahoi. Here guests will have the opportunity to be given a tour of the village by the local families and learn about some of their daily customs and traditions. A delicious local dinner will be cooked by the old mother of the family with whom you are staying. Afterwards, guests will enjoy a performance of dance and music organized by the locals.

• Day 4 : Tumbang Malahoi Longhouse | Jungle | Palangkaraya Activities: Jungle Trek - Travel to Palangkaraya

  This morning, guests will have an early breakfast before setting out on a jungle trek with one of the family’s sons. He will teach you about the local flora and its many uses in his community, including use for medicinal purposes! There will also be opportunities to observe the wildlife in this part of the jungle. Afterwards, guests will head back to the longhouse to collect their things and drive back to Palangkaraya. After checking into our hotel and freshening up, guests will leave in the afternoon to visit a stilted village nearby. Observe the local customs and traditions, taste some homemade foods, and make sure to experience the fish farm. The group will then head to the handicraft market where everyone will have a chance to shop for local souvenirs. We will then visit the night market and have our last dinner together at a local restaurant.

  On the final morning of our tour, guests will enjoy breakfast before checking out and transferring to the airport to continue on to their next destination. Our journey may be over, but the new friends and memories will last a lifetime!
