Maihar has a famous temple of Sharda Maa, which is situated at a height of 600 feet between the mountain ranges of Trikuta Mountains on the banks of Tamasa, which is thronging in the lap of naturally rich Kaimur and Vindhya mountain ranges. This historical temple is one of the 108 Shakti Peethas. This Peeth is also known as 'Narasimha Peeth' after the name of Lord Narasimha, the main incarnation of Satyuga. On the basis of historical facts, the heroes of Alhakhand, Alha and Udal, both brothers were exclusive worshipers of Mother Sharda. Alha's pond and amphitheater still exist at the foot of the mountain. Thousands of visitors come here every day, but a fair is held here in both the Navratras in the year in which lakhs of pilgrims come to Maihar. The stone idol of Narsinghdev ji, installed next to Maa Sharda, dates back to about 1500 years ago. This famous Shaktipeeth place of Goddess Sharda is the center of faith of lakhs of devotees of the country, this temple of Mother is religious and historical.

Chitrakoot is one of the oldest pilgrimage centers in India, situated on the banks of the Mandakini river. The serene and beautiful Chitrakoot, spread over an area of ​​38.2 square kilometers in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, is a unique gift of nature and God. Surrounded by Vindhyachal mountain ranges and forests, Chitrakoot is called the hill of many wonders. Many ghats built on the banks of the Mandakini river, especially Ramghat and Kamtanath temple are visited by devotees throughout the year. It is believed that Lord Rama along with Sita and Lakshmana spent eleven years in Chitrakoot during the fourteen years of their exile along with Sita and Lakshmana. Sage Atri and Sati Anasuya meditated at this place. Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh were born in the house of Sati Anasuya in Chitrakoot. Here is a place adjacent to this district, Rajapur, where some people tell the birth place of Tulsidasji. The original copy of Ramcharitmanas is also kept here.
