Panwali Kedarnath Trek
Kedarnath, where hundreds of pilgrims arrive from all regions of India, the path proceeds at first along the sacred Bhagirathi river, then through dense forests and grassy areas as far as Lata. From there it is a 5-hour drive to Gangotri, where the second part of the trek starts. Near Gaumukh, close to the Source of the Ganges, you will experience the strange view of half-naked saddhus in the lotus position, meditating on the bank of the bubbling stream pouring out the glacier. Further up, Tapovan is a grassy area withnumerous brooks, surrounded by snowy peaks. It is a round-trip itinerary starting in Kedarnath, along the sacred Baghirathi river, then heading west, through dense forests and grassy areas.

The northern part of the itinerary will offer magnificent views of several high altitude lakes. Kedar Tal climb from where you feel that there is little else left to be see. It is as if you are a part of this majestic setting of snow peaks. The trail then descends to Arwatal and to Mana the last village on the Chinese frontier. The trek fittingly ends at Badrinath with a visit to the holy temple.

Panwali Kedarnath Trek Short Brief Itinerary
Day 01: Rishikesh-Ghuttu ( 185 kms/7 hrs)
Day 02: Ghuttu - Panwali kantha Trek (18 kms)
Day 03: Panwali kantha - Maggu chatti Trek (15 kms)
Day 04: Maggu chatti –Trijuginarayan- Guptkashi (14 kms)
Day 05: Guptkashi - Rishikesh ( 191 kms/6-7 hrs)Any kind of personal expenses.
Food during the transit.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Rishikesh - Ghuttu ( 185 kms/7 hrs)

  After an early breakfast drive to Uttarkashi At an elevation of 1158 meters on the bank of river Bhagirathi, Uttarkashi is an important pilgrimage center equated with Varanasi or Kashi in Divinity. Temple of Lord Vishwnath is located here along with other important temple like Ekadash Rudra, Bhairav,etc. Every Year on the occassion of Mahamela people visit Uttarkashi to take a Holy dip in Bhagirathi along with the idol of their local deities. Upon arrival at Uttarkashi check in to Hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel.
• Day 2 : Ghuttu - Panwali Kantha Trek (18 kms)

  Morning after breakfast we start for Panwali. The trek today is very steep. About nine kilometers of steep ascent takes us to Panwali. Preety and Peaceful, the Panwali Bugyals lie at Far flung heights, ranging from 2745 meters to 3970 meters. They are open Grasslands and undulating slopes studded with patches of Forests. With the advent of Summer, the snows melts away and the Flower and Herbs blossom forth to carpet the Bugyals in a riot of color Arrive and camp in the meadow near a stream, as the entire meadow is full of crystal clear springs. Dinner and overnight stay in Camps.
• Day 3 : Panwali Kantha - Maggu Chatti Trek (15 kms)

  In the morning after breakfast trek to Maggu chatti.The entire trek is on rocky terrain .The exquisite mountain setting is charming. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
• Day 4 : Maggu Chatti - Trijuginarayan - Guptkashi (14 kms)

  Drive to Gaurikund we visit the Gaurikund temple and the hot springs.Dinner and overnight stay in Camp or hotel.
• Day 5 : Guptkashi - Rishikesh ( 191 kms/6-7 hrs)

  After an early breakfast drive to Rishikesh. Arrive in rishikesh tour end
