Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Guwahati – Kaziranga

  Dep. from Chennai by Indigo 6E 112, Dep. Time 5.10, Arrival Guwahati at 8.00 AM at Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport. On arrival you will be met by our representative and drive to Kaziranga National park (240 km/ 5 hours), a world heritage site and famous for the one horned Rhino. On arrival, check-in at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

• Day 2 : Kaziranga

  Get up very early in the morning for an exciting elephant ride (subject to availability from forest dept. on direct payment basis). Enjoy the ride through the Park for 1 hr. to appreciate the beauty of famous one horned rhino, wild elephant, etc up close. After breakfast at leisure. Afternoon go on a Jeep safari inside the Central range of the park. This drive is an ideal introduction to the park and its ecology as the route passes through the entire spectrum of habitat types prevalent in the area. There is a possibility of sighting elephants as well as the other Mega herbivores, Swamp deer etc. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

• Day 3 : Kaziranga – Shillong

  Morning after breakfast drive to Shillong (350 km/ 7 hours). En-route see the beautiful Umiam lake or Barapani lake. On arrival, check–in at the hotel. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

• Day 4 : Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong

  Early morning drive to Cherrapunjee (56 km/ 2 hours), world renowned for being once the rainiest place on earth. Cherrapunjee or Sohra has many beautiful waterfalls and caves. On the way, visit, Shillong peak, from where you get breathtaking views of the city below. Visit the Nohsngithiang Falls, Mawsmai caves, Nohkailikai Falls. Also see the valley of Bangladesh below. On the way back, visit the Elephant falls. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

• Day 5 : Shillong – Krang Shuri Waterfalls – Dawki – Mawlynnong – Shillong

  After breakfast drive to Krang Shuri Falls in West Jaintia Hills (4 hours). Thereafter drive Dawki (1 hour). Dawki is a border town on the Indian side of the Indo – Bangladesh border. Just near the Tamabil-Dawki check post flows the beautiful Dawki river or Umngot river with greenish-bluish water so clear that one can see the bottom of the river even from as high as the bridge over the river. Enjoy activities in Dawki like boating, canoeing(optional). Thereafter drive 1 hour to Mawlynnong, one of the cleanest villages in Asia. This village borders Bangladesh and you can have a great view of the plains of Bangladesh from here. Trek to the living Root Bridge which is a real delight to see. Walk to the Bangladesh view point and explore the village and interact with the locals. Later drive to Shillong (3 hours). Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

• Day 6 : Shillong – Guwahati

  This morning sightseeing of Shillong visiting the Wards Lake (Tuesday closed) known locally as Nan-Polok. It is an artificial lake with garden and boating facilities. After that visit the Shillong Cathedral, built by the first Catholic missionaries to these hills, the Salvatorians from Germany. This uniquely designed building is in perfect harmony with the hilly landscape. Thereafter visit the Don Bosco Museum (Sunday closed). This modern museum focuses on local indigenous people & culture. Afternoon drive to Guwahati (110 kms / 3 hours). On arrival check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
