Rohtang Pass, a high mountain pass which is on the Eastern Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayan mountain ranges, is around 51 kms away from Manali in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It connects the Kullu valley with the Spiti and Lahaul valleys and is a gateway to several other places in the north. Rohtang Pass height is 13,051 feet or 3,978 meters above. It is the best snow point of Manali and is visited by lakhs of tourists every year from all over the country as well as other countries of the world. This pass provides a natural divide between the arid high-altitude Lahaul and Spiti valleys having a Buddhist culture in the north and the Kullu valley with a primary Hindu culture in the South. The Beas river emerges from underground and flows southward on the southern side of this pass. The Chandra river flows from the eastern Himalayas in the westwards on the northern side of the Pass. The meaning of 'Rohtang Pass' is 'Ground of Corpses' and it is because a number of people have died crossing this place. However, the roads are quite well maintained now. It is one such destination that is a popular stop over leading to beautiful valleys of Lahaul and Spiti and so, a number of travelers or wanderers that visit Manali, do visit this place. With its stunning scenery and a plethora of mind blowing activities to indulge in, it has captured hearts of all the tourists that visit it. The view of snowcapped mountains, pleasing ambience and thrilling activities make it one of the most popular tourist spots.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Delhi - Manali

  Transfer to Palam Domestic airport for flight to Kullu (Bhuntar Airport). Transfer from Bhuntar airport to Manali and check into Hotel. After lunch, we drive down to Manali town for self exploration of town. Overnight at hotel.

• Day 2 : Manali - Rohtang Pass

  After early breakfast, we drive to Rohtang Pass for sightseeing. This day is must for acclimatization. Return back by lunch time and day free at leisure. Overnight in hotel.

• Day 3 : Rohtang Pass - Batal

  After early breakfast, drive over Rohtang Pass for Batal. Reach Batal by lunch time. Evening free at leisure & overnight in tents.

• Day 4 : Batal - Kunzum Pass - Chander Tal

  After breakfast, we drive 10 kms to Kunzum Pass and start trekking 12 kms to Chander tal. A pleasant 4 hrs walk and the Chandra tal appears. Overnight in tents.

  Transfer to Bhuntar airport for flight to Delhi.
