Spiti Valley known as an 鈥淯nknown World鈥� The definition of word SPITI means middle land i.e. land between Tibet and India. It is located in trans Himalayan belt of Himachal Pradesh. This area has lots to explore and hold treasures and secrets of ancient civilization, Tibetan Monastic traditions. Holidays in Lahaul and Spiti offer pleasant experience whilst unfolding the stunning valleys of these places. In the year 1960, Lahaul Spiti became thedistricts of Himachal Pradesh that have a perfect combination of Hinduism and Buddhism. Both have their own speciality like Lahaul is blessed by nature and fostered by Chandra and Bhaga Rivers while on the other side Spiti is a living museum and there are breathtaking trek routes, valleys and very popular monasteries that captivate tourists who visit here from different parts of the world. Spiti is famous as the 'Land of the Lamas', and the Tabo Monastery situated here has been acknowledged as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and includes scriptures and wall paintings like Tankhas and Stucco.

This is the itinerary for a tour which we run regularly. It can be altered, and we like to discuss plans with clients and can make suggestions about special places to visit depending on our clients鈥� interests, and available time. The itinerary is planned in such a way that you gain altitude gradually , you get a good and proper time to acclimatise properly while travelling through the Central Himalayas . Every day there is enough free time to make walk / or to relax your own so you could experience the people and culture from much close on the tour.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Manali

  Welcome to Himachal Pradesh :: On arrival you are met & welcomed by our executive and transferred to the hotel in your private car. Take some rest and have your lunch. Later in afternoon you go for a half day city tour of Manali covering Hadimba temple, Manu temple and Tibetan Monastery. Overnight at hotel

  • Hotspots Manu Temple, Hadimba Temple
• Day 2 : Manali Keylong(115 kms/ 6 hrs)

  Headquarters of Lahaul & Spiti district :: In the morning after breakfast at hotel you travel by surface to Keylong over Rohtang Pass (3980 m). Enroute you will be crossing Rahala water Fall, Marhi and some Lahaul villages like Khoksar, Sissu and Gondla. On arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon visit to Khardong monastery & village. Evening free to explore Keylong. Overnight at hotel.

• Day 3 : Keylong

  Raw natural beauty :: Today you go for an excursion visiting Trilokinath and Mrikula Devi temple at Udaipur in Pattan valley. Overnight at hotel.

  • Themes Hill Stations & Valleys
• Day 4 : Keylong Kaza (185 kms / 10 -11 hrs)

  Countryside life :: After breakfast travel by jeep from Keylong to Kaza over the Kunzam Pass (4558 m) enroute visiting villages like Losar, Hal and Rangrik. On arrival check in at hotel or guest house. Overnight at guest house.
• Day 5 : Kaza

  Day for monasteries :: Morning visit the Ki monastery, 12 kms from Kaza. This centuries 鈥� old gompa is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors 鈥� and at one time also acted as a fort. It houses valuable Thangkas and offers a panoramic view of the area. Also visit the small gompa at Kibber, 9 kms further ahead. Kibber at 4205 m altitude has the distinction of being one of the highest permanently inhabited village of the region. Overnight in tents at Kaza.
• Day 6 : Kaza Tabo Kaza(48 Kms One Way)

  The Ajanta of the Himalayas :: After breakfast leave for an excursion to Tabo visiting Tabo Monastery. Founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is known for its awesome murals and stucco images 鈥� and is thus called 鈥淭he Ajanta of the Himalayas鈥�. abo monastery is the largest monastic complex in Spiti embracing in its complex 9 temples, 23 chortens besides chambers for monks and nuns. There are several caves adorned with frescoes and contemporary structures too. In trans Himalayan Buddhism, Tabo鈥檚 sanctity is next only to Tibet鈥檚 Tholing gompa. Later drive back to Kaza enroute visiting Dhankar Monastery. Overnight at hotel in Kaza.
• Day 7 : Kaza Manali(200 kms/ 10 鈥� 11 hrs)

  Cs/ontrasting Landscapes :: Travel back to Manali. On arrival check in at the hotel for an overnight stay.
• Day 8 : Tour Ends

  Bidding adieu :: Day at your own till drop at the airport for your onward journey.
