Package Overview

Considered among the best winter treks of the country, the trek to Kedarkantha is a majestic summit trek located in Govind Wildlife Sanctuary of Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. At an elevation of 3812 metres above sea level, it is among very popular winter treks giving a slight glimpse of summiting a Himalayan peak with no prior trekking experience due to its ease of grade and accessibility. The snow remains here till the month of April, which makes it so popular unlike other winter treks. The trek starts from a small village Sankri, passing through dense forests of oak and Rhondendron, a frozen lake or Talab midway and finally a summit trek in snowy and chilly conditions. The likes of different Himayan peaks namely Bandarpoonch, Kalanag, Swargarohini etc are visible from the summit of Kedarkantha . According to legend by locals, it is believed that when Lord Shiva was wandering here in Kedarkantha in his bull avatar to hide from the Pandawas, the local dwellers distributed his peace and the local villagers believe that the trident of Lord Shiva erected at the Kedarkantha Peak protects them and keeps the Himalayan rivers replenished. The trek to Kedarkantha is of 12 km of easy to moderate grade with some steep stretches on the summit day, thereby making it accessible to first time trekker also.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Dehradun to Sankri, 200 KM Drive

  Pick up from Dehradun Railway Station at 6:30 AM. Dehradun is well connected with Delhi through railway and road route. Overnight Buses and Trains are available.
  A 200 km drive to Sankri Via Mussuorie, Kempty Falls, Netwar & Purola.
  Arrival at Sankri village by evening, Check in Guest house/Hotel. Dinner and rest at the guesthouse/hotel. Quick introduction and briefing about the trek

• Day 2 : Sankri to Juda Ka Talab, 4 Km Trek

  Trek to Juda Ka Talab campsite after breakfast.
  The trail is of easy to moderate ascend passing through dense forests of Oak & Rhondendrone Arrival at Juda Ka Talab campsite followed by lunch and rest in the camps.
  The Tal remains frozen during the winter season and a great sight to watch.
  Evening refreshments, Group Activities and dinner at the campsite.
  Overnight stay in the camps.

• Day 3 : Juda Ka Talab to KK Base Camp, 3 Km Trek

  Trek to Kedarkantha Base Camp from Juda Ka Talab after breakfast.
  Arrival at base camp around lunch
  An evening acclimatization walk followed by evening refreshments. Early dinner and rest in the camps.

• Day 4 : The Summit Day, 10 Km trek

  Early morning Trek to Kedarkantha Peak at 4 AM after light breakfast.
  Steepy and moderate climb of 3.5 km with level walks in between.
  Carry at least 1-2 litres of water individually as the trail is deprived of water points.
  Packed lunch at the summit point of the trek.
  Descend back to Hargaon Base camp from the peak.
  Refreshments and evening snacks after arriving at base camp.
  Dinner and rest in Camps.

• Day 5 : Hargaon to Sankri, Drive to Dehradun

  Descend down to Sankri Village from Hargaon camp after breakfast at Hargaon camp
  Drive to Dehradun from Sankri village, a 200 km drive via Netwar, Purola, Kempty Falls & Mussoorie.
  Expected arrival at Dehradun will be 9 P.M.

Payments Poilcy

• Note: must transfer atleast 50 of the total cost to confirm their booking atleast a week before the commencement of the trip. If the time of booking is less than a week from the day of commencement of the trip, full amounts payable. There maining amount has to be paid on arrival/Day of commencement of the trip The payment can either be made in cash or through an electronic transfer NEFT/IMPS/BHIM/TEZ etc. The percentage of amount to be refunded in case of cancellation is mentioned in cancellation policy

• Being a high altitude trek, this trek is suitable for climbers with good physical condition and stamina.
• This is a tentative itinerary which may change as per weather conditions
• We expect you to carry your rucksacks, in case if you want them to be carried by mules back pack offloading charge up to Rs. 300/bag/day is applicable
• In case of any natural calamity the company will not be able to refund the trip charges, for more details check our cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy

• Case1:If the trek is cancelled by The Uttarakhand Mountain Rangers
• In case the trek is cancelled by the UMR due to any unavoidable Circumstances like Bharat bandh, Road block, natural
• calamity, landslides etc we will provide a trek Coupon where you can opt for the same trek or a different for a period of one year. in case you want to change the trek the amount you paid will be deducted if the new trek cost is greater then the cancelled trek and if the new trek cost is less the remaining amount will be refunded.
• In Case of Booking of less than 3 members and the trek is cancelled due to no further trekker available, the customer will get full refund and will get a discount coupon of 10% having validity for a year.
• Case 2 : If the trek is cancelled by the customer
• If the trek is cancelled by the customer prior to 45 days of booking date - 100 % of the total trek fee will be refunded i.e. no cancellation Fees.
• If the trek is cancelled by the customer between 30-45 days of booking date - 70 % of the total trek fee will be refunded.
• If the trek is cancelled by the customer between 15-30 days of booking date - 50 % of the total trek fee will be refunded.
• If the trek is cancelled by the customer between 1-15 days of booking date - No Amount will be refunded.
• Refunds are initiated and will reach to your account between 1 -14 working days of cancellation
