The awe-inspiring Jungfrau Region
The Jungfrau region is, quite simply, one of the most beautiful places on earth, and a Jungfrau hiking tour is the vacation of a lifetime. It's a glistening mountain landscape with colliding glaciers, lush alpine meadows, moist forest trails, and hundreds of dazzling waterfalls. Most people who visit this region spend a day or two and only scratch the surface. Not you! Hiking in the Jungfrau is full of unexpected delights.

Saas-Fee, "The Pearl of the Alps"
Until the 14th century, the town of Saas was the only community in the Saas Valley. Four villages eventually arose out of Saas and of those four Saas-Fee, known locally as 鈥淭he Pearl of the Alps鈥�, is the most renowned. Surrounded by thirteen 4,000 meter peaks, the car-less glacier village of Saas-Fee lies on a high plateau above the Saas Valley floor and the other three Saas communities. More than 200 miles of well maintained hiking trails are located around Saas-Fee and its sister villages in the Saas Valley.

Peaceful M眉rren
M眉rren, a car-less village, is 2,500 feet above the Lauterbrunnen valley, the Valley of Waterfalls. This village is an ideal place for travelers who wish to enjoy the natural beauty of Switzerland. It is the highest altitude resort in the Bernese Oberland and faces a series of giant peaks. The view encompasses the Eiger, the M枚nch, the Jungfrau, the Breithorn and the Gspaltenhorn range. Above M眉rren are numerous peaceful alpine meadows that provide fantastic views of the north faces of the snow capped peaks that have drawn alpinists to the region since the late 1700s.

This tour is a new offering for Alpenwild. Unlike most of our other tours where you hike to a new destination every day, this tour gives you the chance to get to know these 2 villages really well. When you arrive you have the opportunity to unpack and get comfortable in your hotel room since you will be staying in that village for the next 6 nights. Hiking days are more flexible, but still deliver beautiful sites and rewarding trails. Plus you will get a free day in each village to shop, explore, do some more hiking, or whatever else you would like to do!
