Package Overview

There are two Eagle Festivals that takes place. The first one is about two hours away from Ulgii in Sagsai and takes place on the second weekend of September. The second is the Golden Eagle Festival which is a bigger festival held in the Bugat region and this festival takes place a few weeks later on the first weekend of October. Each of the festivals last about two days long. Therefore, we offer a program to the tourists who come to Ulgii the chance to visit the countryside to meet some of the families and stay with them in order to learn more about the daily life of eagle hunters for 2-3 days before or after the Eagle Festival.International flights

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 :

  Upon you arrival in Ulaan Baatar, you will be met by our representatives, and, after checking in at your hotel, we will take you on a city sightseeing tour and a welcome dinner. (Hotel/D)
• Day 2 : Ulaanbaatar – Ulgii.

  You will fly to Ulgii City, in the Bayan-Ulgii province of Western Mongolia. At the local airport, you’ll meet your English-speaking guide, driver and expedition cook. We will take you the Kazakh Eagle hunter family, about 1.5 hours by van, and stay overnight in a Ger, (/L.D)
• Day 3 : Stay with Nomadic family

  Those days we will spend the day with a Kazakh family, We’ll get up at the same time with nomadic people and everyday you can go horse back riding,
  
  There will be plenty to see and do. Riding with Kazakh herdsmen and watch how they take care of their animals and help them with processing diary products and sample their traditional food. Explore the real way of living of regular nomadic family. To personally experience of their friendliness and hospitality.
  
  One day we’ll ride to the Eagle hunters family and he will show us their training methods and you will be introduced to the art of eagle hunting and can talk with the hunters ( Trough an interpreter) about how he trains and hunts with his eagle. The tradition of hunting with Eagles goes back thousands of years in central Asia. (Overnight with Kazakh family). (Ger/B/L/D)
• Day 4 : Stay with Nomadic family

  These two days we’ll attend the Golden Eagle Festival! Festivities begin with the hunter’s parade displaying their hunting outfits, accessories and traditional dress. Day two of the festival includes competitions and presentations demonstrating the special relationship between the trainer and his bird of prey. You will be able to experience a number of these Kazakh traditions first-hand by joining the hunters to watch them pamper their birds and cheer for them during the competitions. (Overnight Ger camp) ( Ger/B/L/D)
• Day 6 : Return to Ulgii: Eagle’s Festival

  These two days we’ll attend the Golden Eagle Festival! Festivities begin with the hunter’s parade displaying their hunting outfits, accessories and traditional dress.   In the morning or in the afternoon, we catch the return flight to Ulaanbaatar, and transfer to your hotel.
