Holi is one of the festivals observed among Hindu religion in Nepal. But now Holi is celebrated in many places by many people. The word 鈥淗oli鈥� is also known as the Festival of Colors. As per the Hindu calendar, Holi is celebrated on the Falgun Purnima (Full Moon Day), which comes in February or March, in the Gregorian calendar.Every year, thousands of Hindus participate in the festival Holi. First and foremost, it celebrates the beginning of the new season, spring. Originally, it was a festival that commemorated good harvests and the fertile land.People walk down their neighborhoods to celebrate Holi by exchanging colors and spraying colored water on one another.

The word "Holi" originated from "Holika" sister of Hiranyakashipu.According to the belief, in the place called Vaishnavism, Hiranyakashipu was the great king of demons. He had a son named Prahlada, who was a devotee of Lord Vishnu. But his father Hiranyakashipu did not like his son because he was a devotee of Lord Vishnu. Then he decided to kill his own son parhlada. He tried his best but his son Prahlada did not die. Finally, he ordered young Prahlada to sit on a pyre in the lap of Holika, Hiranyakashipu'sdemoness sister, who also could not die because she had a boon preventing her from being burned by fire. Prahlada readily accepted his father's orders, and prayed to Lord Vishnu to keep him safe. When the fire started, everyone watched in amazement as Holika burnt to death, while Prahlada survived unharmed. The salvation of Prahlada and the burning of Holika is celebrated as Holi.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival At Kathmandu

  After arrival at TIA (Tribhuwan International Airport) Kathmandu, the representative of Actual Adventure Pvt. Ltd will receive you at the airport and brief you about the daily activities and also help you to move into a hotel. Overnight at hotel.
• Day 2 : Kathmandu

  Then on this day we will roam around Kathmandu valley. We will visit around the place like Swayambhunath (The oldest temple of Nepal), Pasupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square.and many more. Overnight at hotel.
• Day 3 : Kathmandu

  In this Day we will move to have some entertained in Basantapur where every year people celebrate Holi Jointly. Then we will celebrate Holi this day in Kathmandu valley. Overnight at hotel.
• Day 4 : Kathmandu to Chitwan

  In Nepal 1st day is celebrated and 2nd
  day is celebrated in the Terai region so we move to Terai from Kathmandu by bus and in the way we can have a lot of scenes of Holi festival. Overnight at Hotel.
• Day 5 : Chitwan

  Then on this day we will roam around the Chitwan national park and other parts in Chitwan. Overnight at hotel.
• Day 6 : Back to Kathmandu

  Then we will get back in Kathmandu by bus from Chitwan. If we have a time then we will roam around Kathmandu and do some shopping.
• Day 7 : Departure

  After breakfast we will transfer you to Tribhuvan International airport (TIA) and about three hours before your flight you have to reach there.
