This tour provides comprehensive introduction to Gujarat’s history and rich cultural heritage. ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ to exquisite temples and great historical monuments, this state provides glimpses into an eventful past, as also, into the life of Mahatma Gandhi. Visits to national park and the serene beaches add to our experience here.

Our tour begins in the bustling metropolis of Mumbai, India’s commercial hub and home to its film industry - Bollywood, for an exciting taste of modern India. Here we visit Mani Bhawan, now a museum, depicting life of the Mahatma, where he, Gujarat’s most famous son, lived for many years. From Mumbai we journey north to Gujarat’s biggest city, Ahmedabad, where we visit Gandhi’s home and other local places of interest. In the following days we travel through the narrow streets of Bhavnagar’s old city for a fascinating glimpse into Gujarati life, the fabulous Jain temples of Palitana, and spend a relaxing day on the beach in the charming former Portuguese colony of Diu. In a bid to see the majestic Asiatic lions, and of course, a large variety of other wildlife species, a foray into the jungle is also included that takes us into the famous Sasan Gir National Park. Other cultural treasures include the exquisite Somnath temple, the magnificent Buddhist caves, the splendid Junagadh Fort, the queer old city of Rajkot and the fabulous palaces of Gondal.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : MUMBAI

  Mumbai. Upon arrival at the Mumbai International Airport we are transferred to our hotel. Evening is free to explore the metropolis. Overnight Hotel
• Day 2 : MUMBAI

  Mumbai & O/N Train to Ahmedabad. Today visit Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum, Marine Drive, Hanging Gardens and Gandhi Memorial Museum. In the evening board the train to Ahmedabad. Overnight Train

• Day 3 : AHMEDABAD

  Arrive in Ahmedabad. In the morning arrive in Ahmedabad and transfer to the hotel for check in. In the sightseeing programme in the afternoon visit textile museum and Sabarmati Ashram. Overnight Hotel

• Day 4 : BHAVNAGAR

  Ahmedabad – Bhavnagar (175 kms/4 hrs). In the morning drive to Bhavnagar, the fifth-largest city of Gujarat. Later go for local sightseeing of Bhavnagar City to relish its culture that it is famous for. Overnight Hotel
• Day 5 : DIU

  Bhavnagar – Palitana – Diu (175 kms/4 hrs). In the morning visit Palitana Jain temples in the sightseeing programme. Then drive to Diu. Evening is free to explore the town that has a large population of practicing Jain priests. Overnight Hotel
• Day 6 : DIU

  Diu. Free day to relax on the beach, apt for bathing and sun-bathing, of Diu Island located south of Gujarat and connected to the mainland by bridges and a ferry. Overnight Hotel
• Day 7 : SASAN GIR

  Diu – Somnath – Sasangir (150 kms/3-4 hrs). Today after breakfast drive from Diu to Sasan Gir National Park; visit Somnath temple en route. Afternoon is free to explore the town that is also home to a National Park. Overnight Hotel

• Day 8 : SASAN GIR

  Morning & Evening Game Drives. Today there are two game drives into the Sasangir National Park. One in the morning and the other in the evening to sight an amazing range of wildlife. Overnight Hotel
• Day 9 : JUNAGARH

  Sasangir – Junagadh (60 kms/1.5 hrs). In the morning drive to Junagadh and transfer to hotel. Later in the afternoon visit Junagadh Fort. Evening is free to relax in this town located at the foothills of Girnar Hills. Overnight Hotel
• Day 10 : RAJKOT

  Rajkot. In the morning visit the ancient Buddhist Caves at Junagadh. Later transfer to Rajkot, a famous commercial and industrial city, with a visit to Naulakha Palace in Gondal en route. Overnight Hotel

• Day 11 : RAJKOT

  Rajkot. In the full day sightseeing programme in Rajkot visit Kaba Gandhi’s Gate, Watson Museum and Library, Lal Pari Lake and Randrela – exotic natural spots for bird-watching. Evening is free to explore the town further. Overnight Hotel

• Day 12 : AHMEDABAD

  Rajkot – Ahmedabad & O/N Train to Mumbai. After breakfast drive to Ahmedabad. Upon arrival there is free time to explore the local bazaar of the city. Later transfer to railway station to catch overnight train to Mumbai. Overnight Train
