2 Nights / 3 Days
Marrakech Sightseeing, learn from the Berbers, and eat dinner under the stars — all in just one weekend
We will pick you up from Marrakech airport and transfer you to your riad. Once you have checked in, we’ll take you to explore the nearby medina (Arabic quarter) with our English-speaking guide. The medina is cram-packed full of local shops selling a variety of interesting and unusual handmade items, from local clothes to handmade jewellery. Make sure your haggling skills are sharp!
We’ll stop for lunch at one of the local restaurants in the old town, then we’ll take you back to your riad where you can have some free time to soak up the atmosphere and relax.
At around 7:30 p.m. we’ll then head out again for a traditional dinner under the stars at a nearby Berber camp in the Agafay desert. These dinners are delicious and really show off how good the Berber cooks can be! We’ll then drop you off at your riad again at the end of the evening for a good night’s rest.
On Saturday, we’ll pick you up from your riad and make our way to one of the many Berber villages in Morocco.
The Berber lifestyle has been relatively unchanged for hundreds of years and they still continue many of the traditions of their ancestors. You’ll be able to browse the farmers’ markets which are packed full of fruits and vegetables that are locally grown and harvested, as well as the local handmade goods. There are lots of live animals, interesting people to meet, and there are even services such as hairdressers and dentists!
Another must visit spot is the local women’s argan oil cooperative which is set up to place genuine argan oil products back into the market, as well as help the local Berber families pay for their children’s education.
We also encourage you to bring small gifts such as clothes or treats that you can give to the children. It’s a great way to make new friends and give something to the Berbers in return for their hospitality.
You’ll also be treated to a handmade lunch in a Berber house in a village overlooking the stunning Atlas Mountains. These lunches are regularly said to be the best lunches our previous customers have had throughout the weekend stay. Not just for the taste of traditional Berber dishes, but also the view and friendly company.
A little later, we’ll head back to Marrakech where you’ll be free to explore and relax at your leisure. Perhaps you would like to explore the nightlife of magical Marrakech at one of the many fabulous restaurants, such as Comptoir Darna or Palais Jad Mahal to name a couple.
If you let us know in advance where would like to go, we can make your reservations and transfer you to your restaurant and back at the end of the evening.
By Sunday, you’ll have experienced some of the most amazing places Morocco has to offer in just a weekend. Depending on the time of your flight, you’ll be able to explore Marrakech some more, eat at one of the many restaurants, or just chill at your riad for the day.
Once you’re packed and ready to go, your driver will take you to Marrakech airport for departure two and half hours before your flight is due to leave, giving you plenty of time to sort out your boarding pass, security checks, and have a last minute browse through the various shops.
