Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : ARRIVE CHENNAI - DRIVE TO MAMALLAPURAM

  Upon arrival in Chennai, you will be received by our executive at the Airport/Railway station. Onward, proceed for sightseeing of Chennai visiting places of interest such as Kapaleswarar Temple 鈥� dedicated to lord Shiva. The Santhome (St.Thomas Cathedral Basilica) 鈥� built over the tomb of St.Thomas. Continue for a quick visit to 鈥楳arina Beach鈥�. Further proceed to visit the famous 鈥淢adras Crocodile Bank鈥� where in you will be various species of crocodiles from across the world. Later drive along the scenic east coast road to reach the laidback beach town of Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram). On reaching Mamallapuram check in to hotel. (Overnight at hotel in Mamallapuram)
  
  Note: If arriving by Overnight train journey, then, you will be assisted in getting a room nearby to railway station (on direct payment basis) for wash and change further to which you can start the tour.

• Day 2 : MAMALLAPURAM - PONDICHERRY

  After breakfast Check out from hotel around 09am and start the sightseeing of Mamallapuarm visiting 鈥� 鈥楾he Arjuna`s Penance鈥� (Bass Relief), 鈥楩ive Rathas鈥� (Symbolizes equality of men & women), the famous 鈥楽hore temple鈥� & the so called 鈥淜rishna Butter Ball鈥�. Apart from the above said monuments you also visit many other cave temples. During the sightseeing, you can also make a visit to one of the sculpture studios to know more in detail about sculpturing and possible souvenir shopping. Later proceed to Pondicherry. On arrival visit of Pondicherry incl Aurobindo Ashram. (Overnight stay at Pondicherry).
• Day 3 : PONDICHERRY TO TANJORE /VIA.KUMBAKONAM

  Check out from hotel after early breakfast drive Tanjore 鈥� so called the rice bowl of Tamilnadu. Enroute you will visit the famous temple of Gangaikonda cholapuram & Darasuram (named after the while elephant). Upon reaching Tanjore, check in to hotel & onward proceed to visit the World Heritage Brihadeswarar Temple, also known by the name the 鈥淏ig Temple of Tanjore鈥�. Continue the visit to Museum & Art gallery at the Tanjore palace. (Overnight stay at Tanjore).
• Day 4 : TANJORE TO MADURAI / VIA...VISIT OF TRICHY

  Check out after breakfast and head to Madurai 鈥� known to the one of the oldest states in Tamilnadu. Enroute visit of Srirangam - Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple dedicated to lord vishu. The temple also boats having the 2nd Tallest Tower in Asia. Onward proceed to visit the Jumbukeswarar Temple - One of the Pancha Bhootha Shiva temples at Trichy. Later continue to Madurai and check into your hotel. (Overnight stay at Madurai)
• Day 5 : IN MADURAI / SIGHTSEEING

  Madurai is known to be the oldest city in Tamilnadu. The name Madurai reminds the city of the legend that a drop of sweet nectar from the hair of the god Shiva fell to earth here. With a relaxed start of the day proceed for sightseeing in Madurai visiting the World famous Meenakshi Amman Temple 鈥� dedicated to goddess Parvati. Though famous by the name of meenakshy, the temple also housed the shrine of lord Shiva as Sundareshwarar. Continue visit to the grand Thirumalai Naikar Mahal Palace. A visit to Gandhi Museum is also worth when in Madurai. If interested, you can also enjoy a Bicycle-Rickshaw ride through the local market area. Post visits return to hotel. (Overnight at Hotel in Madurai).
• Day 6 : DEPARTURE MADURAI

  The tour ends today with a departure transfer to Madurai Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.
