Lake Clifton - view the amazing thrombolites
From Pinjarra, we cut across country towards the coast passing through the neighbouring farmlands to Lake Clifton in the Yalgorup National Park. The pristine waters of this freshwater lake are the location of the largest collection of thrombolites in the Southern Hemisphere. Over the millennia these amazing, living organisms have created a reef of stepping – stone formations which extends for six kilometres along the eastern fringe of the lake which we can view via a raised boardwalk.
