Asia’s first National Park hardly needs an introduction. Established in 1936, the Jim Corbett National Park is as famous for its alluring landscapes as it is for the remarkable diversity of inhabitants. Nestled between the Himalayas and the Terai region, the Sal thickets, grasslands, mountains and serpentine rivers form a vivid mosaic of landscapes. The epicenter of the Project Tiger initiative, it boasts of its Royal Bengal Tiger and Asiatic Elephant populations. Housing over 600 species of birds, it is indeed a bird watchers’ paradise! The enchanting aura of the forest punctuated with sambar, cheetal, jackals and even the Himalayan goral, will leave you spellbound.
