Day 1 : Arrival
On this day you will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport or at your arrival point and transferred to a hotel in Arusha or Moshi where you will spend your first night. AT the lodge our Representative/Manager will meet you to give you a briefing of the kili climb as well as go through your gear check together with your guide for tomorrow before you are left to relax. Overnight at the Impala hotel in Arusha
Day 2 : Arusha 鈥 Machame Camp
Early in the morning after breakfast at your lodge/hotel, you will be picked up by our driver and transferred to Machame Gate lying at 1,815 mt/ 5,950 ft. You will go through the registration formalities as the porters assign the luggages amongst themselves and of you start on your first day of trekking. This is at the Savannah vegetation below and soon you are treated to the sight of a lot of exotic birds, and the Sykes monkeys as well as the black and white colubus monkeys on the canopies of the trees as they go on their daily life. In about 6 鈥 7 hours we shall be at our home for tonight; the Machame Camp that sits at just above the forests zone aprrox 9,850 feet. Today鈥檚 trek is a long one but not steep. Your porters surprisingly will be much ahead of you and on your arrival you will most probably find them having pitched tents and coffee is ready for you as well as some nuts or pop corn to enjoy and pass time. Overnight at Machame Camp. Lunchbox and dinner is included.
Day 3 : Machame Camp to Shira Camp
After breakfast in the morning we are on the g again and this time through the savannah of tall grasses we pass across the beautiful heather land and alpine moorland all the way with wonderful views of the Kilimanjaro Peak one of the rewards of this route. The trek is filled with views of the giant heather and Erica. As we go the ascent begins to steepen and we scramble around some boulders as we enter this moor land zone which is typically marked with presence of lobelias and senecio species. Rocks draped by lichen beards which apparently protect the wild alpine flowers from growing at their bases. This night will be spent at Shira Camp that lies at 12,600 feet. We have walked about 5-6 hours today and fatigue is gripping in slowly. After meals we retire to our tents for overnight.
Day 4 : Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
Having slept early the previous night we wake up early today and after breakfast off we are on our way up and as we get closer to the lava tower the peak is drawn even nearer. More strenuous the trekking becomes today but this day is treated as the acclimatization days. The lava tower is a 300 ft tall volcanic plug that marks an exposed pass at 1500ft. After having reached at the Lava tower we start descending down the steep track into the Valley of Barranco where we shall camp today. The Barranco camp lies at 12950 feet and is set on a flat area (col) that is enclosed by steep valley walls and the Kibo massif. Stunning views of hanging glaciers glitter in the sun while the vegetation is here is the unique species of groundsel taxonomically known as the scenecio kilimanjari; as well as the endemic giant lobelias. Today we will have walked about 5-6 hours
Day 5 : Karanga Valley Camp to Barafu Camp
Today we shall trek up Karanga Valley, as the trail turns steadily uphill, and following the lava ridge we proceed towards the Barafu camp. As we approach the Barafu Camp the temperatures are now colder and the vegetation more sparse. The Camp is on a ridge, small exposed flat area, at 15,200 feet, that will act as a base camp from where we shall attempt to summit later on at midnight. This day we shall have walked 6-7 hours.
Day 6 : Barafu Camp to Summit to Mweka Camp
After having had enough rest we wake up just after midnight and start our last but challenging trek of about 12-17 hours to attempt the summiting. At around 12:30 to 1am we embark on our way up passing between the Rebmann and Tarzel glaciers and over to the rim at Stella Point. Temperatures are now below freezing point and as it dawns we鈥檒l summit at the Uhuru Peak, which is the highest peak in Africa standing at 5895 m /19,340 feet, having trekked about 6-7 days. The excitement and satisfaction is just an amazing feeling up the rooftop of Africa. Jubilation rules the air and after a session of photos you will begin your way down 3-4 hours to Mweka Camp where you will overnight. You will have stopped at Barafu briefly to take your breakfast. Mweka lies at 9,840 feet.
Day 7 : Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Approximately 3 hours you will descend down to the Mweka Gate where you sing out and bid farewell to your crew who without them you could never had made it, they are so crucial than you can imagine! It is here at the gate where you will also receive an appreciation certificate of 鈥榟ad been there done it鈥. Persons who have made it to the Gillman鈥檚 point receive Green Certificates and the conquerors of Uhuru Peak they get a Gold Certificate. You will board a waiting vehicle and off you take off to Impala hotel in Arusha, where you will check inn to relax ready for your safari extension and Zanzibar beach extension
Day 8 : Arusha to Serengeti
After breakfast early the morning depart for Serengeti passing through Olduvai Gorge, the site of the Leakey family discovery of fossils 50 km long and in some places 90 meters deep. It drains the slopes of the nearby mountains plus of human and animal ancestors dating back to almost two million years. Olduvai Gorge is a canyon carved by water through the southern part of the Serengeti Plain. The gorge is about the Serengeti Plain. Its chief claim to fame is the rich treasure-trove of human and animal fossils that it has yielded. Meals and overnight at seronera wildlife lodge
Day 9 : Safari from Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
start at 07:00 after breakfast we have yet another game drive before proceeding to the next highlight of our Tanzanian safari 鈥 the incredible Ngorongoro Crater. We will use the Malanja Depression route allowing us to see many Masai villages enroot. Overnight: Ngorongoro wildlife lodge
Day 10 : Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
this day we will start early morning at 07:00 for the game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. Your Driver/Guide will be in contact with other safari drivers and will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals after great all exploration in crater. In the later evening we鈥檒l return to Arusha for Dinner and overnight at Impala hotel in Arusha,
Day 11 : Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
this day we will start early morning at 07:00 for the game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater. Day 12 : from Arusha to Zanzibar
After breakfast you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight to Zanzibar, after arrival on Zanzibar we will do the Spice Tour / Historical tours on your way to the North East Coast. You will learn about Spices and herbs that put Zanzibar to be famous for spices (gives Zanzibar the name 鈥淪pice Island鈥. Dinner and Overnight in the Blue Oyster Hotel on the East Coast
Day 13 : Beach Hotel Zanzibar
Relax and enjoy Zanzibar鈥檚 North East Coast around the Blue Oyster Hotel. Or similar, there is many choices of water sports and activities you can do.
Day 14 : Beach Hotel Zanzibar
Relax and enjoy Zanzibar鈥檚 North East Coast around the Blue Oyster Hotel. Or similar, there is many choices of water sports and activities you can do.
Day 15 : Departure to Air Port
after breakfast we will transfer you to air port for your flight back home the transfer will depend on the departure time. This is what we call the end of our service.
