Package Overview

This is a fascinating journey through exotic Rajasthan and Gujarat, exploring the region鈥檚 rich cultural heritage and natural abundance. Tigers and lions in National Parks and birdlife in sanctuaries can be seen together with historic forts, fascinating palaces, vibrant towns and remote villages to make this tour an unforgettable experience.

The tour begins with a visit to the magnificent Taj Mahal and nearby Fatehpur Sikri, the 16th-century Mughal capital, before arriving at Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, home to hundreds of rare species including egrets, kingfishers and the spectacular migratory Siberian cranes. We continue our journey to famous Ranthambore National Park, one of the best places to see tigers in the wild. A highlight of the trip is a two-night stay in the Pink City - Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Few places in India showcase such a glittering array of sights: imposing Amer Fort, the bejeweled City Palace, Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) and the teeming city bazaars.

On reaching Gujarat, our focus moves back to the natural world: we visit the otherworldly salt flats of the Rann of Kutch, famed for its population of Asiatic wild ass, and Sasan Gir National Park, home of the last surviving population of the majestic Asiatic lion. We take safaris into the park in search of the big cats and other wildlife. En route between these two far-flung natural wonders, a stopover in the atmospheric old town of Bhavnagar is included to provide a fascinating glimpse into Gujarati life.

Our Wild West adventure ends with a visit to the nearby Hingolgarh Bird Sanctuary, before a drive takes us to the Gujarati capital, Ahmedabad, followed by an enjoyable train ride south to Mumbai.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Delhi

  Upon arrival at the international airport of Delhi followed by a traditional welcome transfer to our hotel. After noon is free for local exploration. Overnight Hotel
• Day 2 : Agra

  Drive to Agra after breakfast. In the afternoon visit Agra Fort, a blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Later visit Taj Mahal, a symbol of eternal love, built in while marble. Overnight Hotel

• Day 3 : Bharatpur

  This morning drive to Bharatpur. En route visit Fatehpur Sikri, the palace built by Mohd. Akbar, the 3rd Mughal king, in the 16th century. Overnight Hotel

  This morning enjoy a cycle-rickshaw ride into the sanctuary watching a huge variety of birds and animals. In the afternoon drive to Ranthambore National Park. Overnight Hotel

  Today there are two game drives into Ranthambore National Park. One in early morning and the other late in the afternoon, to look for the elusive tiger. Overnight Hotel

  Make another foray into the jungle this morning. In the afternoon drive to Jaipur where the rest of the day is free to relax or explore the vibrant market. Overnight Hotel

  Today is a full-day sightseeing programme in Jaipur. Visit City Palace, Jantar Mantar (the 18th century observatory), Hawa Mahal (the Palace of Winds) and the majestic Amer Fort. Overnight Hotel

• Day 8 : Ahmedabad

  In the morning transfer to airport to catch flight to Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat and the sixth largest city in India. Transfer to the hotel for a free afternoon. Overnight Hotel

  Drive from Ahmedabad to Zainabad, a small town that derives its name from Nawab Zainkhan who ruled the region about a century ago. Overnight Hotel
• Day 10 : Rann of Kutch

  This morning make a jeep safari in the Rann of Kutch, a large area of salt marshes located in the Thar Desert mostly in Gujarat and the southern tip of Sindh in Pakistan. Overnight Hotel

• Day 11 : Bhavnagar

  Continue journey to Bhavnagar, the fifth-largest city of Gujarat, and the second-largest city in the Saurashtra region. Bhavnagar is also known as the cultural capital of Saurashtra and offers vibrant shades of traditional Gujarati Culture. Overnight Hotel
• Day 12 : Sasan Gir

  Today visit Gandhi Smriti - a memorial that has a library of Gandhian books and photographs providing glimpses into the life of Mahatma Gandhi. It also has a fine collection of art objects representing the culture of the Saurashtra Region. Later drive to Sasan Gir National Park. Overnight Hotel
• Day 13 : Sasan Gir

  This day is for some more adventure. Two game drives into Sasan Gir forest sanctuary to see Asiatic lions and other wildlife including insects and reptiles. Overnight Hotel
• Day 14 : Hingolgarh

  Today drive to Hingolgarh Bird Sanctuary, a green oasis in the dry plateau of Saurashtra, extending over a forest area of 654.07 hectares. Overnight Hotel
• Day 15 : Ahmedabad

  Today drive back to Ahmedabad with a free afternoon to explore the city or relax in the hotel. Overnight Hotel
• Day 16 : Mumbai

  Today transfer to the railway station to catch morning train to Mumbai. Check into the hotel late in the evening. Rest of the evening free. Overnight Hotel
• Day 17 : Mumbai

  Transfer to the international airport of Mumbai to catch flights to respective destinations.
