Package Overview

Haa is the chosen venue for the wedding ceremony in Bhutan. The valley is characterized with important landmarks such as the majestic Meri Phuensum Mountains or three brothers which are mystically believed to represent scared protecting deities of the valley, Manjushree, Vajrapani, and Avalokiteshvara.
Apart from that, Haa valley retains the air of an unspoiled, primeval forest. The wooded hills of Haa valley provide an ideal location for hiking and leisure walks. Walking around the valley and hiking through pristine blue pine and rhododendrons forest is an enjoyable way to spend the day when visiting.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Paro - Haa

  The Flight to Paro gives you a breathtaking with views of Major Himalaya peaks such as Everest, Kanchenjunga and Makalu, and Bhutan鈥檚 own snowy peaks, the sacred Jomolhari, Jichu Drake and Tsherimgang on a clear day.
  As you enter Paro valley, you will sweep past forested hills with the silvery Pa Chu (Paro river) meandering down the valley below. Paro Dzong (fortress) and Ta Dzong (watchtower) on the hills above the town will be a fine sight. Upon arrival into Paro and completing your visa & customs formalities, a representative of BEST Bhutan will be there to receive you as you exit the Airport.
  After lunch,
  Begin your journey to Haa (via Chelela Pass) (13,083 feet) through blue pine & rhododendron forest. Located in South West of Paro and covering an area of roughly 1706 sq. km.
  Haa is the smallest Dzongkhag in the country. This tiny region is one of the most beautiful and isolated areas in the kingdom, adorned with pristine alpine forests and tranquil mountain peaks.
  Our team will stop at Chelela pass, the highest motorable pass in Bhutan for you to have a superb view of the majestic Mt. Jomolhari (24,035 feet) & Jichu Drakey (22,930 feet).
  Upon arrival in HAA, you will check into the Hotel at Haa. (Overnight at Haa)
• Day 2 : Haa Valley Sightseeing

  After breakfast,
  - You will begin the day early by exploring the Haa Valley by foot, visiting Wangcha Village to get a glimpse of rural life and its culture in Bhutan. If you wish to we can arrange you a rural life experience with the local farmer there. The place is silent and offers a great time for retreat
  - Followed by a visit to Gyechu Lhakhang dedicated to App Chhundu, the dominant guardian deity of the valley and is a popular pilgrim place for Bhutanese. Before doing a new business venture or anything new, people of Haa valley visit this visit first and foremost to receive a blessing. Our team will then take you for a lunch.
  After lunch,
  - Visit Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple), a venue for the marriage. It was established in the 7th century by Tibetan king Songtsen Gempo in his mission to build 108 monasteries in one day. It is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan built at the same day with Kyichu Lhakhang of Paro and Jambay Lhakhang of Bumthang. According to a legend, a black and white pigeon was released to select sites to build the temples. These two temples stand as the guardian sentinels keeping watch at the south entrance of the valley. The white pigeon landed on the foothills of the three towering mountains worshipped as Rigsum Gonpo and is where the Lhakhang stands today. The temple was named Karpo (white) as it was built on the site where the white pigeon landed.
  - Followed by a visit to Lhakhang Nagpo, situated towards the north of Lhakhang Karpo. The temple was named Nagpo (black) as it was built on the site where the black pigeon landed. Built on a lake; an opening in the floor of the temple serves as the channel to the underground lake. Lhakhang Nagpo serves as the seat for the guardian deity Da Do Chen. The principal relic of the monastery is the Choe-Lung-truel Sum. (Overnight at Haa)
• Day 3 : Marriage Day

  Depending upon the good time chosen based on age for the marriage, the ceremony will be held in the magnificent but intimate main shrine room and will run as follows:
  Our team will dress the couple in fine traditional costume 鈥� Gho for man and Kira for a lady
  Then take you to the venue where the couple will enter the inner courtyard of the temple through a gateway protected by paintings of the Guardians of the Four Directions.
  Having removed shoes the couple enters the shrine room, observed by statues and murals of important figures in Bhutanese Buddhist culture including the Bodhisattvas, Avalokiteswara (the God of Compassion) and, of course, Guru Rinpoche himself.
  About 20 monks will conduct ceremonial prayers, accompanied by drums and horns and cymbals 鈥� the prayers are dedicated to a long, prosperous and happy relationship for the couple.
  The couple will make wishes & say prayers whilst exchanging white scarves (Kha Dhar) 鈥� the scarves are held and blessed by the head monk along with symbols of the eight lucky signs throughout the ceremony before husband and wife exchange the scarves
  The ceremony will last for about 2 hrs. with guests seating on the floor at all times
  A Nendar (offering of money) is then presented to the monks.
  All guests and the couple should bring offerings for the temple including butter lamps, incense, small cash notes, fruit 鈥� they could buy strings of prayer flags and get them blessed for a loved one before hanging them by a river or on a high point somewhere in the Kingdom or even taking them home as a souvenir.
  The couple will witness the traditional dance performed for them and will take part in the dance too.
  
  The evening the couple enjoy an archery tournament on our very own archery field at Haa followed by a hot stone bath and dinner at your hotel. (Overnight at Haa)
• Day 4 : Haa - Thimphu

  ready packing your baggage,
  Our team will drive you to Paro with a prayer flag hoisting at Chelela for the luck and positive energy between the couple.
  Upon reaching Paro, you will have lunch at one of the popular Bhutanese restaurants in Paro Town. Followed by a walk around the town.
  After Lunch,
  - Drive to Thimphu. Thimphu is one of the most premium paramount Travel Sector not just only of the Western Bhutan Travel Circuit rather of the whole of Bhutan. Thimphu City is the national capital of Bhutan. Thimphu is perhaps the most unusual capital in the world is a bustling town on the banks of its own river and gloriously in the hills of its own valley.
  One of the most curious features of Thimphu is that it is the only capital city in the world that does not use traffic lights. Instead, a few major intersections have policemen standing in elaborately decorated booths (small pavilions), directing traffic with exaggerated hand motions. The juxtaposition of ancient tradition and modernity make Thimphu the ideal location for visitors to break away from their tour itinerary and just immerse themselves in the lifestyle of contemporary Bhutanese.
  Upon arrival in Thimphu, explore the town by foot and indulge in some handicraft shopping. Our team will then escort you for a dinner specially made in Bhutan cuisine. Our team from Bhutan will join the dinner with the travelers so that they can enjoy the lively welcoming company with the locally brewed wine. (Overnight at Thimphu)
• Day 5 : Explore Thimphu

  After breakfast,
  - You will embark on a leisurely hour-long walk to the 18 Century Wangditse monastery, situated atop Thimphu. The route is very peace accompanied with the fresh air, Blue pine tree and sound of the birds.
  From the monastery, you will get to see the beautiful scenery of magnificent Trashichoe dzong and the valley below. On your way back from Wangditse, stop by the Motithang Takin Preserve to see the Takin, Bhutan鈥檚 National Animal. This rare creature has a mythology story behind for choosing as the National Animal of Bhutan.
  - Followed by a visit to Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in Thimphu built in the 12th century. It is hovering over a ridge above Thimphu, near lower Motithang. The Lhakhang houses Chenrizig 鈥淏odhisattva of Compassion鈥� an 11-headed, thousand-armed manifestation of Avalokiteswara as the central statue. The prayer books in this Lhakhang are larger than the usual Buddhist texts. There is a large prayer inside the Lhakhang and small on the walls outside the Lhakhang. Our team will then escort you for a lunch.
  Afternoon,
  - There is much to do in Thimphu. You will visit the Postal Museum, the Farmers Market and the Folk Heritage Center.
  - Followed by a visit to Trashichoe Dzong in the evening for the flag lowering ceremonies in Bhutan. It鈥檚 performed in a perfect discipline by the soldier/guard at the Dzong and holds an authentic traditional style with. (Overnight at Thimphu)
• Day 6 : Hike to Paro Taktshang Monastery 10,100 Feet

  After Breakfast,
  - You will hike to Paro Taktshang,
  In order to avoid the crowds and escape hiking under the day sun, you will begin our journey to Taktshang (Tigers Nest) by 7:30 am. At a very moderate pace, you can be up at the monastery by 9:30 am and back at the base by 2 pm. Taktshang Monastery is Bhutan鈥檚 most iconic landmark and religious site. This monastery is one of the holiest sites in the kingdom and clings impossibly to a sheer cliff face 2952 feet above the Paro Valley. At about an altitude of 10,100 feet, Taktshang was first built in 1692 at a cave where Guru Rinpoche (learned to reincarnate monk) meditated in the 7th century A.D. No trip to Bhutan would be complete without a visit to this remarkable heritage site.
  Afternoon,
  - Visit Paro Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest Lhakhang built by King Songtsen Gempo, to subdue the demon that lay across the Himalayan region.
  - You will then explore Paro town for some last minute handicraft shopping followed by rest and dinner at your hotel. (Overnight at hotel in Paro)
• Day 7 : Depart Paro

  After Breakfast, Our team will escort you to Paro airport for your departure.
