Upon your arrival at the Paro international airport, clear your immigration and custom formalities. Meet our representatives outside the terminal. After short introduction, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Check into your hotel. In the afternoon you’ll visit to Kyichu monastery, a scared monument pinning down the left foot of a treacherous ogress, which is built in 659 A.D by the Tibetan king Srongsen Gampo. This Monastery is one of the 108 monasteries built across the Himalayan region by the Tibetan King to subdue the Demoness that lay across the Himalayan region. The rest of the monasteries lie in other neighboring countries. Then you’ll visit Drukgyel Dzong the imposing fortress which was the strategic vantage point for numerous defeat of invading Tibetan armies. In a clear day one can view the spectacular view of mount Jomolhari 7314m. You’ll then Visit Dungtse Monastery and Rinpung Dzong which serves as the administrative center and school for monks, and walk further down crossing the traditional bridge into the Paro Town.

After breakfast we’ll drive you towards north end from where you can enjoy an astonishing hike on foot to visit the Taktshang Monastery or Tiger’s Nest viewpoint. Our hike to Taktshang from the road point will take through the well maintained path which is quite uphill and takes around 2-3 hours hike at an average walking speed. The trail climbs through gorgeous pine forest, many of the trees are adorned with Spanish moss, and an occasional grove of fluttering prayer flags. You’ll stop for a rest and light refreshment at the Taktsang cafeteria. This incredible monastery clings to the edge of a sheer rock cliff that plunges 900 meters into the valley below. Legend has it that Guru Padmasambhava, the tantric mystic who brought Buddhism to Bhutan in 747 AD, flew here on the back of a flying tiger Dorji Drolo, who is said to be his consort.
Later in the afternoon you’ll drive to Thimphu, the modern capital city of Bhutan which takes approximately 1 ½ hour drives. Depending on the time and your interests, we may stop along the way for sightseeing, take photos etc. Near the village of Sitsina, you can visit a small nunnery. Thimphu being the capital has number of sights to visit and depending on which may be of more interest to you. Spend the evening at leisure.

After breakfast you’ll be taken for a local sightseeing tour of Thimphu valley which includes visit to the Memorial Chorten which is built in honour of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, known as the Buddha Point which has the only biggest Buddha stupa ever built in Bhutan, Changangkha Lakhang (monastery), Takin Sanctuary (national animal of Bhutan) and BBS tower.
In the afternoon you’ll visit the Traditional Art School (Painting School), Handicraft, Tashichhoe Dzong view point and handmade paper factory. Evening will be spent at leisure or you can walk on your own and mingle with the local people.

After breakfast you’ll drive to Punakha through some of the Kingdom’s affluent agricultural land and most spectacular river valleys. En-route we will stop over Dochu La, the 3050 meter pass, which offers a majestic view of the snow-capped eastern Himalayan ranges which can be seen on a clear day. Prayer flags fluttering on the pass will take you deeper into the essence of Bhutan. The beauty is further enhanced by the Druk Wangyal Chorten – 108 stupas built by the eldest Queen Mother. Once you cross the pass, you wind down into a warm fertile valley. En-route we will stop at Chimi Lhakhang the auspicious fertility monastery dedicated to the Divine Madman; it’ll will take 20 minutes walk through the lush rice fields and later followed by a visit to Punakha Dzong (fortress), the capital city of Bhutan till 1955 and still the Je Khenpo; the Chief of Abbot’s residence during the winter season. Punakha Dzong was built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel in 1638 and is situated at the confluence of Pho Chu and Mo Chu Rivers.
Afternoon drive further to visit Wangdiphodrang Dzong(fortress) Wangdiphodrang which was built in 1638.The castle of Wangduphodrang dzong sits on the ridge overlooking the village of Wangduphodrang and is the site of the annual Tsechu (Festival) built to resemble a sleeping bull, this large dzong is a striking sight and there are excellent views across the valley. Legend relates that as the people were searching for the site of the Dzong, four ravens were seen flying away in four directions. This was considered an auspicious sign representing the spread of religion to the four points of the compass. The dzong is situated at the confluence of Wangdue Tsangchhu and Dangchhu River. Wangdi is popular for handmade bamboo products. Evening drive back to hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast you’ll be driven towards the north of Punakha Valley following the Mo Chu which leads to Khamsum Yulley Namagay hiking point. Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, is the splendid example of the Bhutanese fine art and architecture. This beautiful hike to Khamsum Yulley Monastery takes about 45 minute’s uphill climb. Lunch will be served to you at Punakha. After lunch drive to Thimphu for overnight stay. Enroute we’ll visit the Simtokha fortress which now houses the Institute of Language and Culture Studies. We’ll take a short break at Dochu La Pass for a quick view of the scenery. Evening will be spent at leisure.

After breakfast you’ll drive to Paro. Check into a hotel. After a short break you’ll be taken for a scenic drive to Chele La Pass (3810m). This 35km drive to Chele La makes a fascinating road excursion and is an excellent jumping-off point for day walks. Chele la separates Haa and Paro valley and at 3810m, it is one of the highest motor able pass in Bhutan. The drive till here from either Paro or Haa is through dense spruce and larch forests according to the season. On a clear day, we’ll get the breath taking views of Mt. Jumolhari, Jichu Drake and adjoining peaks to the North West, as well as the view of Haa and Paro valley. We’ll enjoy the packed lunch picnic at Chele La Pass. In the evening you’ll be driven back to hotel for an overnight stay.
