ANDAMAN:
Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a union territory of India consisting of 572 islands, of which 38 are inhabited, at the junction of the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. It comprises two island groups, the Andaman Island (partly) and the Nicobar Islands, separated by the 150 km wide Ten Degree Channel , with the Andaman islands, and the Nicobar islands to the south (or by 179 km). The Andaman Sea lies to the east and the Bay of Bengal to the west. The island chains are thought to be a submerged extension of the Arakan Mountains. Tourism is a major industry in Andaman. The bulk of the revenue earned by the government of Andaman and Nicobar is through the tourism industry. In 2008 total 136,426 tourists visited Andaman and Nicobar. Growing sectors in tourism and potential area of investment are water sports and adventure tourism including trekking, island camping, snorkelling and scuba diving. Sea aquarium, water theme park, wave surfing, marina yacht, convention centre, health resorts, sanctuaries, national park, inter-island cruise liner. New islands in the Andaman archipelago are expected to open for tourism related activities. Andaman and Nicobar Islands are promoted as an eco-tourism destination. The major activities currently present in the islands are Scuba Diving, Sea Walking, Parasailing, Kayaking, Game Fishing, Semi submarine, Glass bottom boat ride and Night cruising. North Bay Island and Havelock Island are the two top islands that promotes adventure related tourism activities. Accommodation is available at all the major islands such as Port Blair, Havelock and Neil Island.
Cellular Jail
The Cellure Jail, also known as K膩l膩 P膩n墨 (Black Water), was a colonial prison. The prison was used by the British especially to exile political prisoners to the remote archipelago. Many notable dissidents such as Batukeswar Dutt and Veer Savarkar, among others, were imprisoned here during the Freedom of India. Today, the complex serves as a national memorial monument.
Swaraj Island (Havelock Island)
Swaraj Island (formerly known as Havelock Island), with an area of 113.93 km虏, is the largest of the islands that comprise Ritchie鈥檚 Archipelago, a chain of islands to the east of Great Andaman in the Andaman Island.
Radhanagar Beach
Radhanagar Beach is a beautiful pristine clean beach located on the western coast of Havelock Island. Called an infinite beach, Radhanagar was voted the best beach in Asia by Time Magazine in 2004 and is now considered one of the top 100 beaches in the world. Radhanagar beach was awarded the prestigious blue flag certification in the year 2020. The Blue Flag certification is a globally recognised eco-label accorded by "Foundation for Environment Education, Denmark" based on 33 stringent criteria under four major heads -- environmental education and information, bathing water quality, environment management and conservation, and safety and services at the beaches.
Ross Island
Ross Island was the seat of British administration. This is the island from where British governed the entire Andaman Islands and had set up colony on this island. The island is currently managed by Indian Navy and the island is opened to tourists to visit. A boat ride is required to reach Ross Island from Rajiv Gandhi water sports complex. The island is closed to tourists on Wednesday.
Viper Island
Viper Island is near Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, was the site of the jail where the British used to imprison convicts and political prisoners. It has the ruins of a gallows atop a hillock. The jail was abandoned when the Cellular Jail was constructed in 1906.
Baratang Island
The Baratang Island which lies 100 kilometres north of Port Blair, also has a mangrove creeks leading to limestaone caves and mud volcanoes.
Day 1 : Day1: Port Blair sight Seen
Arrival at Port Blair Airport & move to the hotel. After lunch start the trip to *Corby鈥檚 Cove Beach*, one of the most picturesque, coconut palm fringed beach, 7 kms away from Port Blair town, and to the *Cellular Jail*, a place of pilgrimage for all freedom loving people. One can also view the history of the heroic freedom struggle which is brought alive in a moving *Light & Sound Show *at the Cellular Jail. Overnight in *Port Blair.*
Day 2 : Day2: Port Blair To Ross Island (Ross Island closed on Wednesdays) &
After Breakfast proceed to Ross Island, the erstwhile capital of the Islands during the British Rule. The Island still houses the Commissioner鈥檚 Place, the bakery, British Officer鈥檚 Club, a church and an old cemetery of the British officer鈥檚 on the Island; though these buildings now lie in ruins. The Island now is home to the spotted deer and peacocks that are seem roaming free and playing within the ruins on the Island "City Tour" of Port Blair covering Chatham Saw Mill (one of the oldest & largest in Asia- Now closed), Forest Museum, Fisheries (Marine) Museum, Anthropological Museum, Samundrika Museum. .Return to Port Blair. Overnight at Port Blair.
Day 3 : Day3: Port Blair To Havelock
Early morning departure by inter-island ferry to *Havelock Island*(54 kms by sea from*Port Blair*). Enjoy your afternoon at the World Famous *Radha Nagar Beach&Kalapather Beach *(Beach number 7).*And And overnight in Havelock*
Day 4 : Day4: Havelock To Neil Island
After breakfast from cheek out from the Hotel & transfer to Havelock jetty for your Neil ferry proceed towards Neil Island (37 Km by sea route) by govt ferry to have a great look of beautiful beaches Bharatpur Beach , Laxmanpur Beach & Natural bridge Return back in the evening & stay overnight at Neil islands hotel.
Day 5 : Day5: Neil to Port blair
After lunch from cheek out from the Hotel & Transfer to Neil Island Jetty for your Port Blair Ferry and cheek in your hotels & stay overnight at Port Blair.
Day 6 : Day6: Baratang day trip (Approx 110kms by road 鈥 each way)
Early morning departure to Baratang Island(110 kms) which holds the natures best treasures gifted to the islands. Limestone cave are a must beautiful places for nature lovers& leisure travelers alike. The Road journey from Port Blair to Baratang involves crossing through creeks equatorial forests. Late evening return to staying hotel. Overnight in Port Blair.
Day 7 : Day7: Departure
Post breakfast takes the departure transfer to Port Blair airport for your onward journey.
