Dalhousie

Dalhousie is a high-altitude town spread across 5 hills near the Dhauladhar mountain range in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It鈥檚 home to colonial-era buildings, including St. Francis and St. John鈥檚 churches, which date back to the rule of the British Raj in the 1800s. A trek up Dainkund Peak leads to Pholani Devi Temple. To the north, Subhash Baoli is a peaceful area with pine trees and panoramic views.

Dharamshala

Dharamshala is a city in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by cedar forests on the edge of the Himalayas, this hillside city is home to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile. The Thekchen Ch枚ling Temple Complex is a spiritual center for Tibetan Buddhism, while the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives houses thousands of precious manuscripts.

Amritsar

Amritsar is a city in the northwestern Indian state of Punjab, 28 kilometers from the border with Pakistan. At the center of its walled old town, the gilded Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) is the holiest gurdwara (religious complex) of the Sikh religion. It鈥檚 at the end of a causeway, surrounded by the sacred Amrit Sarovar tank (lake), where pilgrims bathe.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : ARRIVAL AMARITSAR

  Journey Starts
  Arrive Amaritsar airport / Railway Station.transfer to hotel. Check in to hotel. Take rest Amritsar :The city of Amritsar is a glittering showcase of compound traditions and secular culture. A thriving city with important devout centers and historical sites Amritsar exhibits a glorious past, magnificient present and a hopeful future. Evening visit to Indo-Pak Wagah Border to watch Flag Retreat Ceremony- Wagah, an army outpost on Indo-Pak border 30 Kms from Amaritsar where the daily highlight is the evening "Beating the Retreat" ceremony. Later evening back to hotel and free for leisure, overnight stay at hotel at Amritsar.

• Day 2 : AMARITSAR - DALHOUSIE (190 KMS/8HRS)

  Visiting Dalhousie
  After breakfast check out from hotel the Visit to the city tour with the blessings of Golden Temple-the most important Sikh shrine which is also called Mecca for the Sikhs is a living symbol of the spiritual and historical traditions of the Sikhs. Then visit Jallianwala Bagh- where, on April 13, 1919, British and Gurkha soldiers opened fire on an unarmed forbidden gathering, killing hundreds of civilians. Afternoon drive to Dalhousie : is a beautiful, quiet and peaceful small town of North India, famous among the honeymooners. Away from the maddening crowds of plains, Dalhousie is surrounded with attractive cottages, villas, sky touching deodar and pine trees and evergreen ornamental shrubs that makes it one of the most preferred tourists destination in Himachal Pradesh. On arrival at Dalhousie check in to the hotel.Rest of the day is free for leisure. You can enjoy a walk along the mall road, later back to hotel,free for leisure , overnight stay at hotel at Dulhousie.

• Day 3 : DALHOUSIE - KHAJJIAR- CHAMBA 鈥� DALHOUSIE (EXCURSION)

  Sightseeing Dalhousie
  Khajjiar:23 kms from Dalhousie by road and 13 kms from Kalatop is the mini Switzerland of India i.e. Khajjiar, at a height of 6400 ft. Hutchison writes, "Khajjiar is a forest glade of great beauty, 6400 feet above sea level". After breakfast visit to Khajjiar Sanctuary - Gandhi Chowk - Khajinag Temple - Khajjiar, known as one of the most charming spots in the Himalayas,then visit to Chamba is also the most charming spots in the Himalayas, later back to hotel.free for leisure, overnight stay at hotel at Dalhousie.

  Visiting Dharamsala
  Proceed to Dharamshala. On arrival in Dharamshala visit Bhagsunag Temple and Dalai Lama Monastery. Enjoy shopping at Macleodganj Bazaar.
