Day 1 : Arrive At Paro Airport – Paro Tour in the Afternoon
Arrival at Paro: The visiting guests will be received by a Guide & Driver at the airport and escorted to Thimphu after a light lunch in Paro town.
Visit places of tourist interest on the way to Thimphu depending on time in hand. The drive on the well paved double lane Highway along Pachu & Wangchu (Rivers) will take about one hour. Every bend provides fascinating scenery and varying vegetation between Paro & Thimphu.
Check-in at a designated hotel on arrival in Thimphu. A light refreshment will be served before moving on the visits in town. The Final Itinerary will have details of visits this afternoon.
Welcome Dinner: The owner & CEO of Mystic Bhutan Journeys will host a Welcome Dinner and the visiting guests will be briefed on the Tour Programs and importance of the places and destinations.
Overnight in Thimphu
Day 2 : Thimphu – Full Day Excursion for Sightseeing
Breakfast: Visit Annual Festival Ground if the visit coincides. The Thimphu Tshechu or the Annual Festival is held at the end of September or early October depending on Lunar Calendar. The Final Itinerary will contain the exact dates. Spend half day at the festival.
Lunch: At the hotel or a restaurant. Visit places of tourist interest after lunch in the afternoon in and around Thimphu. The Final Itinerary will have the details.
Dinner: At the hotel or a tourist restaurant in town.
Day 3 : Thimphu - Punakha – Journey & Sightseeing On the Way
Breakfast: Depart for Punakha crossing over over Dochu-la pass (10,130ft). Stop at Dochula View Point for sightseeing and photography. Dochula Pass is a photographer’s paradise. There are 108 Miniature Stupas on a knoll of hill which add to beauty to surrounding nature. There are 11 manmade Meditation Caves further in the fir forest where anyone can practice meditation for a short while.
There is Botanical Park down the hill about 12 kms away from Dochula. Stop at Lam Pelri Botanical Park where the travelers are treated to a short documentary film to provide insights into the rich flora & fauna of Bhutan. The drive takes the travelers through lush green forest of various species. Further down in the lower valleys, the rural settlements can be seen all along the road.
Lunch: At a roadside tourist restaurant at Lobesa and Yuwakha on the way to Punakha. The drive to Punakha takes about 30 minutes from the Lunching place. Visit Punakha Dzong if permissible by time. If not, the Dzong visit could be done the next morning.
Punakha was the capital and political seat of Bhutan until 1955 before the seat of government moved to Thimphu. Situated on the riverbank prominently dominated by the towering Punakha Dzong provides architectural wonders. It is a feast to eyes for those who have aesthetic architectural designs. Two major fires accidents and several earthquakes destroyed much of the historic documents, Punukha Dzong still houses many sacred and historic artifacts and the embalmed body of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the founder of Bhutan.
Dinner: At the designated hotel. Overnight at Punakha
Day 4 : Punakha – Paro – Return Journey & Sightseeing On the Way
Breakfast: Visit Punakha Dzong in the morning and spend sometime admiring at the architectural wonders inside the Dzong. Drive up stream for about 15 kms and hike upto Khamsum Yuelley Stupa. The visitors will enjoy panoramic scenery from the 3rd floor of the Stupa. Return back to Punakha on the way back to Paro.
Lunch: At Dochula Pass or Thimphu town depending on midday meal time while enjoying the scenic beauty snow-capped Black Mountain range across the valley. Depart for Paro after lunch.
Visit places of tourist interests on the way as may be reflected in the Final Itinerary. Check-in at a designated hotel on arrival at Paro.
Dinner: At the hotel or a tourist restaurant in town. Overnight at Paro
Day 5 : Paro – Hike to Taktshang Monastery – Full Day Excursion
Early Breakfast: Depart for Taktshang Hike which takes about 4 hours depending on the physical fitness of the individual. Taktshang Hike is considered the highlight of the Bhutan Visit for foreigners as it is no less than any of the Wonders in the world. It is a must visit tourist destination.
Lunch: Enjoy Buffett Lunch at Taktshang Cafeteria on the way back from Taktshang Monastery. The Cafeteria is located at a strategic place to allow the visitors to enjoy scenic beauty of Taktshang while relishing lunch & refreshments.
Visit Ta-Dzong National Museum on the way back. This museum is the treasure house of Bhutan where very sacred artifacts and rare stamps are on display manifesting the progression of history in Bhutan. Take leisure stroll in Paro town before going back to the hotel.
Dinner: At the hotel or a tourist restaurant in town. Overnight in Paro
Day 6 : Paro – Haa Valley – Day Trip for Sightseeing
Breakfast: Depart for Haa Valley on a Day Trip crossing over Chelela Pass. Haa Valley is little over 2 hours drive from Paro. Stop at Chelela to enjoy the scenic views of perpetually snow-capped Mount Jumolhari and other mountains bordering with Tibet in the north.
Lunch: At a tourist restaurant in Haa Valley. Visit places of tourist interests and return to Paro retracting back on the same road.
Farewll Dinner: A Cultural Program will be organized for entertainment of the visiting guests followed by the Farewell Dinner. Overnight in Paro
Day 7 : Airport Drop – Return Flight – Bon Voyage!
Breakfast: The hotels serve early Breakfast depending on the Flight Departure timing.
The Guide & Driver will see-off the guests at Paro International Airport wishing Safe Return!
